The All About Comics Thread 5: Comic Books Ate My Paycheck

Now that it's finished... Daytripper: best comic of the year?

I just realized that Archangel from X-Men/X-Force looks really similar to the archangels seen in the Ghost Rider books. Neat.

I bought the Young Avenger's hardcover.

It has a foreword by Jeph Loeb.

The first line mentions how Magic is at it's best when it can't be explained.

I laughed for a good three hours.

Um. I agree.... If it can be explained, then it would just be science.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this, but does anyone use the program comicbooklover?

I've been using it and i have a troubleshooting question. Usually, the comics I read in CBL are able to display two page spreads together. If they haven't been saved as one page, then selecting the "Western" style double page display usually shows the pages together. But I was reading a comic today and CBL displayed a single page and the left side of a two-page spread together. The right side of the spread was paired with the next single page. I would like to make the two pages display together, but i can't figure out how to do it. Does anyone know how to edit the pages or combine two pages into one?

I'm not aware of the ability to set that in the program. I always thought it was all in the scan - if the scanner put the two pages together then it would display as one long page. If you think about it, if you could display two pages at a time there is no guarantee that it would display the two pages of a spread, say, if the first page is an even-numbered page.

They seem to do this correctly with newer comics, but a lot of older ones aren't. I'm thinking specifically of the Earth X trilogy but I know there are others.

By 2012, Nick Spencer will be writing every comic being published. Joe Kalicki will kill himself.

So the Taskmaster mini recently ended, and I personally thought it was fantastic. Has anyone else read it?
