The All About Comics Thread 5: Comic Books Ate My Paycheck

This is awesome. Conan visits the WB animation studios and holds Peter Girardi's feet to the fire about some of the less effective characters in DC's roster. And then he makes a request of a certain popular writer/producer...

"The Flaming C". It was really funny.

Also, I had no idea that's what said certain popular writer/producer looked like.

Has anyone else been reading Iron Man Legacy? Fred Van Lente is writing and it's pretty awesome. The current arc takes place when Tony had lost his company and fortune to Stane, and he's currently in LA fighting
The Pride
!

I love Bruce in the end, he's trying so hard not to laugh.

Any of you guys ever read Archie comics? Remember Ms Grundy, the teacher?

apparently she was diagnosed with cancer a while back and is going to die in an upcoming issue of "Life With Archie".

This may be another "What If?" type story similar to the "Archie gets married" stories from earlier this year, but if not it's a pretty big deal.

Archie isn't supposed to be depressing. Sheesh.

I would put Nemesis at #1 just for the self-destructing womb thing.

The Marvel books are bad - I haven't read any of the others.

Nemesis was bad (and yet it's still better than the incredibly boring Ultimate Avengers) but the others are definitely worse.

I was wrong. #4 featured one of the dumbest twists I have ever read.

A thousand pardons if I missed any previous discussion on it, but Axe Cop is brilliant.

It's written by a 6 year old kid and interpreted/drawn by his 30-year old brother. It's about a cop who wields an axe. There's other stuff too (5 yar olds have very active imaginations) and he's got a bunch of allies and villains but that's the gist of it.

It's a web comic (link above) but it was recently collected into a TPB. The comic is great but the best thing is the "Ask Axe Cop" feature - also collected in the TPB.

I said this in the TPB thread but Bass should be reading it if he isn't - it's right up his alley.

An independent filmmaker is making a live action Axe Cop, http://axecop.com/index.php/achome/appearances/meltdown2011/

Is anyone reading the new Sir Edward Grey Witchfinder mini? Because it is awesome.

Especially Morgan Kaler:
