The All About Comics Thread 5: Comic Books Ate My Paycheck

So, 2000 AD is going to start seeing publication in the US. This includes 22-page reprints of seminal stories as well as TPB releases. And Zenith is one of the stories being prepped for trade!

So, I've been reading Brubaker's Batman run. It's pretty standard Batman stuff. The Penguin has been working with a professional killer who has all sorts of body implants that speed up his reflexes and allow his eyes to work like a shuttered camera lens. It turns out he's the bodyguard who's working for an old Gotham crime lord who's returned to the city, except Deadshot has been hired to kill him, and while Batman tussles with the bodyguard, Deadshot shoots the crime boss. And then a little green alien shows up at the door of a priest.

Wait. What?

I, on the other hand, just finished Gotham Central which was brilliant and beautiful. The last arc was a great end, and it was so sad when
Cris was killed
.

Robert Kirkman: gay bear icon.

I knew that would happen when I posted it.

Damn tumblr gays.

Buffy fans and Angel readers: is Willingham really about to do what it looks like he's about to do with Spike?

He gonna kill him?

IS HE?

In other news I am currently reading an OGN called Sons of Liberty, where Ben Franklin's crazy scientist of a son created two superpowered electric slave children with SCIENCE.

They lost me with the "Boys are told, 'if you can't be a superhero, you can always be a slacker.' Slackers are funny, but slackers are not what boys should strive to be" Who the **** strives to be a slacker? No one strives to be a slacker, intentionally put things off to be "cool". Trust me I'm probably the biggest slacker on this board and I know that only comes naturally. If you're active that's who you are and you don't "strive" or work hard to be the cool slacker. If anything this is more persona than actual slacking they take a liking too. But again I am a little drunk now so who knows if I'm right. I actually forgot several times what I'm talking about while trying to write this post.

I read Chew #1 because it was a free download from Comixology.

It was the most ridiculous plot I think I've ever seen. The main character can see the past of food he's eating.
