The All About Comics Thread 4: Gemini Loves Crappy Variant Covers

Re: The All About Comics Thread 4: Gemini Is Reading Watchmen?!

I just don't understand why they didn't do a Batman Begins-esque movie using Birthright as much as BB used Year One, instead of making Superman Returns. It obviously would've been such a box-office success.

I also really liked Spider-Man and Batman. It's not the best Spidey story ever but I definitely think you'd find it worthwhile.

I have the first one with Joker and Carnage. It's a big book of Marvel vs dc I have with thinks like Hulk vs superman and Daredevil meeting Batman.

Superman: Man of all Seasons

Kinda silly question but is that a christmas story? I'm going off the name

It's basically Superman's early days over the course of the year. But the climax takes place during the winter, yes.

Ex Machina #40 is my favourite issue of 2008. It's great. It's about Mitchell Hundred hiring comic writers and artists to do a graphic novel about him. For most of the issue, we follow Brian K. Vaughan and Tony Harris as they are interviewed. We get references to Hitch, Bendis, Meltzer, Morrison... and it's neat.

But the last two pages are the best. Seriously. If you're even a general fan of BKV, pick up this issue, it's accessible and it's superb.

Re: The All About Comics Thread 4: Gemini Is Reading Watchmen?!

I read a synopsis of that issue

apparently Loeb thinks that Wendigo's are vampire's, Hulk got bit by a Wendigo in Los Vegas

You need to eat human flesh in a remote area of northern canada to become a Wendigo

Damn Loeb

Also he better keep his ****ing hands off Moon Knight

Also Also: Merry Christmas Portmanteau's for everyone! Rulk, Clor, Claptain Clar-Vell, Wolvenom, Wendihulk, Loebendis!

I figured Hulk ate some of them in the hole.

Anyone notice the Moon Knight, Ms.Marvel, The Sentry thing as reference to the Trinity of DC?

I did find the panel of MK and Sentry discussing that they have the same shrink.

Stan Lee is rolling over in his grave.

Stan was sitting as his kitchen table when he suddenly rolled over, knocking over various holiday* decorations. His wife was very upset.

*I'd say Christmas, but I'm pretty sure Stan's Jewish.
