That Thread About Work: "Custom kitchen deliveries...!"

Okay, so I'm working on a 1 page order about the Constitution that ends up paying me (after the company gets it share) about $1/page.

That means it's a $1 paper.

So I hit the little button that says, "Request additional pages" and the guy msgs me saying, "Do you really need the extra pg, I'm kind of on a tight budget"

REALLY?

You can't spare me an extra dollar to do your homework?

Your homework about a government document that you should know about?

For a dollar?

REALLY?

Be sure to include some SNPs in that paper too.

So all along, it's been ourchair that has been the brains behind recombinatering DNAs. Huh.

The honky's lying!

Perhaps it's just the influence of Scalped, but I've managed to produce two papers about American history this week and find an excuse in both to mention their relationship to Native American culture.

My brain isn't what does the DNA recombinatering. It's something else.

I'll give you a hint.

It's in my pants.

So you do kids' homework for them? How well does that usually pay?

The pay is a mix of a flat salary with commissions which comes down to about 500+ dollars a month for me right now.

I know, 500 doesn't sound much, but things cost differently here.

Holy ****! No, that doesn't seem like much at all. How much of your income goes back into rent?

Like many Filipinos, I live with a parent, specifically, my father.

I know, the notion of living with parents past the age of 18-21 seems insane to most Americans, but it's just different in mein kouhntrie.

If you want a sense of the cost of living here, let's just say that a Big Mac Value Meal is under three dollars, and catching a movie in the theaters in a high quality screening room is about four dollars.

Actually with the rising cost of living in America, the downturn in quality paying jobs and the overall coddeling the most recent generation got from their parents growing up its become more and more common for people in thier mid twenties to be moving back home.
I don't drive, so it doesn't matter.

But it's about a $1.25 per liter if you must know.

So thats about $5 a gallon or so. Eh. I bet you've got better public transit than most of America.

It's true. My sister's just about to turn thirty and she's living with my folks.

I think it's a pretty common thing practically anywhere outside of the US, and it's becoming common here.

I never knew that, chalk it up to being an individualist society.

Actually, at the end of the month I'll be going back to live with my parents, so I can save up money while waiting to get into med school (however long that takes). Also, I'll be taking an EMS course in June so I can at least have an interesting job in the meantime.

It's increasinly common in America to live with your parents, or with roommates.

I so want a house of my own. I'm getting kinda sick of living in apartments.

Hopefully, I can get a house in two years.

I plan to live at home while attending college.

I'm going to have enough trouble paying for college, without having to pay for a dorm room, not to mention in the city, where everything is about 7,000 times more expensive.

But I'd like to move out after college. I'm the most incredibly not self-sufficient person you'll ever meet, but I likes my privacy and would kill to have my own tiny little space.

I ****ing hate you.

I have noticed this trend.

I just wanted to point out the cultural difference --- even if it is at the risk of appearing a mite defensive --- in that there has historically been less of a stigma in living with your parents in Philippine culture than there would be in other countries.
