Nintendo Wii discussion

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

I played Wiisports and Zelda. Wii is freaking cool to play with your friends, but I have to say that i liked wiisports better then Zelda.
Zelda is going to be awesome for Gamecube, but they made a really bad port for Wii. The fairy in the screen is just annoying and the sensor for the fishing rod is not very good.
My arm hurts from playing baseball all day. If the graphics for Wii were better I would kill to have one RIGHT NOW. But I can wait.

Yeah, the Navi is annoying as ****, but the rod is easy. You just make sure you have the controller up and the bar near the edge of whatever you have it on.

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

I want to start a bit of a discussion about the actual handle of the Wii and the new controls. I know we've heard this all before, however, this'll decide whether or not Santa will bring me one this year...

So, I was playing Excite Truck the other day at a Game Spot... I gotta tell you - I thought the controls were too sensative to be a steering wheel and it's only mildly entertaining to have to do more work to get into the game. Is this what you get out of the other games, too? Honestly? I would love to play Zelda, Splinter Cell, and Red Steel but if it's as clumsy as the Excite Truck controls, I don't think I'm interested...

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

you can adjust the control's sensitivity, and i find it to be intuitive and awesome for both sports, and zelda, which is worth the price of admission.

I've got Excite truck and it did take a while to get used to the controls but it's no thing now. I've found that for this game the more suptle the movements the better.

As far as other games go no complaints at all. The controller seems right on to me.

Was it on a steering wheel? They have made a wheel for the games where you drive.

And it's not the same for other games. You're not driving and the controls are always different. Like it was said above, you can adjust sensitivity.

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

I guess as long as you can make adjustments and it's not clumsy with the other, more important games (Zelda, Splinter Cell) I'll probably cash in... Now, if only I could find one.

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

Can you play the Wii Zelda without the Wiimote?? I know its cool and all but do you really wanna play an epic game like that the whole time??

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

It's simple to play

I can lay on the couch and play it like that, I don't see what problems you guys have with it

You want to play it with a controller, buy the gamecube version

I agree, the wiimote is different in many ways, but it's basically the same thing as any other controller. I'd rather play with the wiimote, it's way more accurate anyway.

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

There are some stories being posted that Nintendo recalls 3,2 millions Wii-motes because of the straps. If this is true than the prices of a Wii will skyrocket since the ones in the stores are the first ones to be recalled.
I don't know if this is true or not since I have only seen this news posted on some message-boards and NONE has posted the link to the original story. I hate when people neglect to do that.

My brother broke my strap. Well, one of the strings, anyways.

And my mother saw me playing and told me, "Becareful. I saw in the news this girl gave herself a black&blue eye playing with it."

I then had to explain it's because she's part of the millions who have probably become stupid and went extreme playing with the remote when you dont have to.

Everything is always fine when I play. I don't know how my brother broke part of the strap and he hasnt told me. He didnt even tell me it was broken.

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

Yeah, I'm not getting this strap ordeal... I played the Excite Truck game, as I mentioned before, and I didn't feel compelled to involve my entire body while playing this game... Let along exerting any more energy into it than I needed to. The fact that the controllers are going through televisions and breaking is beyond me.

Anyway, I may be a little cranky because I haven't been able to find one of these yet... I went shopping for one at around 6:30 and missed getting a voucher for a Wii by 10 or 15 people. I swear, if I don't get one by Christmas, I'll rob Best Buy.

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

A Wii by Christmas for me is unachievable due to Shops selling out but I'm content to wait for the moment and pick one up in January once the crazy Christmas rush passes !!

But man I want Zelda .........

The problem is that the public for nintendo are people that usually don't play videogames, I can understand if people already have a videogame and threat nintendo as a prize.
In the commercials, the people playing the nintendo wii are all moving their body and swinging the controller so fast. Nintendo should make the wriststraps more durable.
As I played Wii sports I understood why someone could throw the controller through the TV. Excitment + sweaty hands = Headshot.
