Nintendo Wii discussion

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

Friday night during my few and sparce drunken escapades, I badly bruised my ankle, which is now a mixture of black, brown, purple and reds.

Looks kinda cool.

But this has put a hamper on my Wii playing, because it hurts my ankle when I play it.

Not cool.

You try bowling sitting down on a couch, it don't work too well.

So, my boxing and Tennis ranks have gone up, but everything else has suffered.

Now, I'm not liking the Wii so much

I get Zelda on Friday though, I hope I don't have to stand for that one.

Do you really have to be so "active" when you play?

You don't have to stand for Zelda.

And MWF, you don't really need to be "active" but as Houde said it, there are some games like bowling where it won't really work sitting down. Or Golf either. I think baseball would be included.

You can sit while you play all those games. It is not as fun because you are not going through all the motions, but it can be done. For instance, Golf, you do not need to take a real golf swing to hit the ball. You can raise the wiimote up and then bring it down quickly. There are other cheats also but you definitely have more fun when you go through the motions of actually doing it.

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

2 updates out already. The first one I'm not sure what it did. The second one had updates on the parental controls and there is a rumour that it fixed the internet hack.

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

Man, I really want one of these, but the main motivation I have for getting it is to play Metroid Prime 3, which doesn't come out until next June (or later if its delayed). So I probably won't bother picking one up until then.

In the meantime, I still have to get around to picking up a Nintendo DS (for Metroid Prime - Hunters, and the Spider-Man: Battle for New York games).

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

so i had my nintendo pre-ordered and i called the store today to ask if they had one for me, which they said they would have. "nope". man i was furious! then i hastily made my way to every store that was still open at 7pm and they hadnt even had a delivery of them at all. balls!!!!

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

Well I wanted to get a Wii for Xmas but it seems like that may not happen. I had no idea that the demand for Wii was higher than the supply. So i'm a little pissed, anyone knows any place taking reservations or anything?

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

Re: Nintendo Wii - discussion & more.

I've been searching for a Wii for the past two weeks now... Each time I go to Walmart or Gamespot, they're "just out". It's a buzzkill, I tell you.

Anyway, can you choose to play the Wii with the regular, SNES-esque controller?
