Avengers New Avengers discussion (#1-20; spoilers)

The "Mutates" I can see as being original for the issue. I'm talkin about the man with the big head and the girl that put them to sleep and all of the unique looking ones in the page where Captain says "Avengers Assemble".

Actually, and you'll have to give me a few hours to find specific references, I recognized each of those mutates from somewhere or another. A few of them (big-head included) appeared in the X-Men animated series. I'm pretty sure many of them appeared in X-Men Unlimited (1st series) #6, with Sauron. I'll double-check real quick-like.

The mutates we were referring to were the foot soldier ones not the unique guys that seem to be the higher order of the pack. Thanks for the information though.

Maybe Fury is the Mystery Avenger? He's got combat training, and if he's gone rogue he'd need to conceal his identity.

Regardless of how deep-cover he is,can you see Fury using nunchuks?

I don't think that's who it is. Didn't someone say the mystery avenger wouldn't be appearing till after The Sentry Arc?

Seeing how this latest issue turned out, If Black Widow II ended up being the new one, It wouldn't shock me. It wouldn't please me at all though. I hope Bendis doesn't drop the ball on Daredevil during the last arc like he's doing on USM and NA.

USM,fair enough.NA,nope.Its just a single issue,have some faith.Remember the Widow arc?The first two/three issues were muck,then the payoff at the end was great.

He'll be back. Sauron is one of those characters that the writer brings back later and a small group of fans go "Didn't he die?". The writer normaly responds with something like "he got better."
