well so far Hinata is not dead and is about to be rescued. Naruto and Pain are leaving the village ruins as they "run-fight." a little lack luster and uneventful considering the past 15 or so issues have been action packed with spoilers and deaths.
apparently there was a 3-man team of Yamato, Sai and Anko tracking down Kabuto elsewhere. so that explains where they have been.

Oh good, I'm glad that's it.
Why does it have to take Naruto weeks...no, months...to get the littlest amount of plot development? I am sorely disappointed. Also, any chapter that takes about 30 seconds to read (see: this weeks chapter) is pointless. Color me unimpressed. Kishimoto is lucky his anime keeps me interested, because without it, I would have stopped caring months ago.

Agreed.
Pein has blown up Konoha, killed Kakashi and Jiraiya, seriously injured Hinata, still claims he's doing it for the sake of the world, and I'm expected to symphasize with him?
It feels like Kishimoto is trying to redo his sucess with gaara. The trouble is that while Gaara was genuinely sympethetic and ****ing scary at the same time, Pain is just pathetic. A life of Fruedian Excuses does not a good character make.
And don't even get me started on Naruto reaching Kyuubi's full power. They did away the most dramatic thing in the series with a dues ex machina.

Seriously, he reminds me of a grown emo.
Ideally, Kishimoto realizes this too.
As soon as the flashback is over, Naruto's going to be "What, that's it? I've got friends who got worse and were pretty OK after I punched them a lot." And then Kishimoto will use this backstory to say something to the ffect of "While childhood trauma may explain things, it never excuses them."

also i don't get the problem people have with the dog. any kid would be sad about that. anything this kid gets attached to eventually dies soon after. kinda tragic. not really emo since naruto asked why. i don't think nagato really intended on giving a backstory but he's curious to see what naruto's answer is so there you go.
so what will happen is we'll see some more backstory, yahiko's death whichwill be another tragic death in his life. then he learns some new jutsu and realizes yahiko's wish for him by effectively turning him into God. remember the whole, I am not yahiko, i am god i am pain thing?
naruto's answer will be the same as always," I will never give up, that's my way of the ninja."
nagato will die the same way he lived, alone and hungry. i mean look at those ribs.
