Marvel Cinematic Universe - Timeline

I've just received Captain America: The Winter Soldier Prelude (CA:TFA adaptation + CA:TWS Infinite) and the junior novel: I can't wait for the movie!

About Iron Man: Security Measure: It's a Wal-Mart exclusive, which means an Inspired Canon.
The proof is that it was retconed later by Iron Man 2: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (in Phil Coulson: Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. where he is talking to Fury via a phone: which means Coulson was not with Fury when Tony revealed his secret identity).

About the Guardians of the Galaxy tie-in: Infinite Digital Comic doesn't exist yet (or will never exist), there is only the Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy - Prelude #1-2, which the first issue being released for April 2nd, 2014.

Great point!

Really? But:

@Aztlan1984: @willgrem Hello Mr. Pilgrim, can you light our lantern about CA:Homecoming, CA:TWS Infinite, GotG:Infinite? Are they MCU canon or Inspired?
@willgrem: @Aztlan1984 'Homecoming' = inspired, Infinite Comics are canon

That certainly seems to indicate GotG Infinite is coming...unless he just glossed over the fact it was specifically asked about and was instead referring to future Infinite issues set in the MCU (basically confirming all MCU Infinite comics are canon).

And if it doesn't exist I'm assuming the solicitation for the GotG Prelude TPB (which lists GotG Infinite #1 being included) is a reference to the first issue of the 2013 4-issue mini-series.

BIG SPOILER of Cap 2 and AoS!

For those who really wants to know who is the Clairvoyant, just find the answer in traducing it:

Lol, you posted same time as I asked. For those who have trouble translating it:

Arnim Zola became MODOK
Looks like my theory was correct. I'm just wondering how they're going to approach his appearance.

Giant head like in the comics, or something drastically different?

So, I saw TWS yesterday, and I'm not really getting what you're talking about.

And just to be safe, major spoilers ahead!

Zola's consciousness has been transferred into a computer, so he's basically an artificial intelligence, and appears as a face on a screen. I saw no reference to him having anything to do with MODOK. Also, you're saying that Zola is the Clairvoyant? I may have missed something, but at least it's not explicitly stated that that is the case, nor is the name Clairvoyant mentioned once in the whole movie.

Oh and btw, TWS is an excellent movie. Not massive and heaps of fun like The Avengers was, but more suspenseful and full of twists. Feige and the Russos calling it a 70's style paranoia/conspiracy thriller is very fitting.

That's what my friends understood seeing the scene:

They said the project/machin which downloaded the Zola's mind was called M.O.D.O.K. (maybe it's written somewhere, I can't help I haven't seen the movie yet), and that it was pretty obvious that Zola was the Clairvoyant as he is the only one character who can 'see the future' with his algorythms.

Mister Pilgrim has been quick to respond! :)

@willgrem Hi, me again! We wanted to thank you to take the time to answer our MCU questions. It means a lot for us :)

@Aztlan1984 happy to spread the good word about our official tie-ins!

@willgrem Another for you: Is there a MCU GotG Infinite to be expected or only 2 preludes? GotG Prelude TPB's resume talks about 1 on amazon

@Aztlan1984 there will be an infinite comic along with the 2 preludes

Well wow!

Thanks, Captain France, for the help on canon. That's exciting news about the new infinite comic!

Yeah, it does make sense that he'd be the Clairvoyant, I was just saying that it's not really 100% confirmed in the movie either way, and the name Clairvoyant is never mentioned. And I guess I missed something, didn't see anything related to MODOK (neither did my friends). His appearance though had nothing in common with MODOK, he's a hugh hall of old computers and a face on a computer screen.

So the next episode, "End of the Beginning" will offer a few interesting revelations, specifically related to the traitors within SHIELD that play into Captain America - The Winter Soldier plot. One of those traitors, who is someone that's appeared on the show a few times (I won't spoil it) likely works for Pierce (Robert Redford's character in the film).

Also, Loeb stated fans should watch AoS "End of the Beginning" on Tues, April 1, see Captain America - The Winter Soldier when it comes out next weekend, then watch AoS "Turn, Turn, Turn".

"End of the Beginning" definitely occurs just before CA-TWS, as Agent Sitwell is in that episode and leaves to handle a situation on the Lemurian Star, the ship which Cap, Widow, and their SHIELD team assault at the beginning of the film to rescue Sitwell and other hostages. This confirms AoS "EotB" occurs just before CA-TWS.

"Turn, Turn, Turn" likely occurs after CA-TWS, or possibly even during the film.

And then the rest of the season (episodes 18-22) play out likely sequentially.

Also, I'm beginning to think the Clairvoyant may not be the same person as the "secret villain" in Cap-TWS. I think it may end up being two completely different plot lines. From what I've read that secret villain in Cap 2 is never referred to as the Clairvoyant. However, it's entirely possible the actor who plays that role will appear on a later episode of AoS as that character, tying the two together. We'll have to wait and see, though I'd think the identity of the Clairvoyant won't be confirmed until the finale or the end of the episode before the finale, setting up the final episode to focus on the conflict between the Agents, the Clairvoyant, Deathlok, and Centipede's agents.

Apparently this is the clairvoyant. I still hope it's the Leader.

Right next to the Justin Bieber discography and Jeph Loeb's list of work in comics and television.

So you consider yourself in between dunce (Bieber) and genius (Jeph Loeb). Right on.

Hi guys!

I have specifically joined this forum to say thank you to the people that made this timeline! :)

My Dad is a big fan of the MCU and as a Christmas present, I began preparing him a chronological re-edit of the movies and this timeline has proven invaluable. Each movie is around 2.5-3 hours long and I've had to retitle them to reflect the fact that they don't focus on just one hero anymore.

I'm always in the process of changing them; for example, the first one had to be re-edited to include the prologue from Thor 2 and will be re-edited again when Captain America 2 is released to slot in
the flashback scene with Bucky
.

I've currently done up to the third "movie" which brings us up to the end of Iron Man 2, also midway through Thor and The Incredible Hulk. And of course A Funny Thing Happened...

Obviously actors change from time to time and there is nothing I can do to change this but I'm really happy with how it's turning out.

So yep - I'm sure the timeline is a group effort so just want to say an almighty thank you to everyone who has helped put it together. Without it, I'd never have been able to make this re-edit.

Best Regards,

V
