Marvel Cinematic Universe - Timeline

Could a small jump not go into the end before we see Karen writing the article, the burial time of Elektra and Frank returning to his house? Seems the most reasonable place to put one

Could put a small jump there, but a few days at most. Doesn't solve the problem of needing to find a way to stretch the series by an extra couple months to make sense of heat wave in first episode.

There may be a time jump when they ask Melvin to make Elektra's suit and the time she wears it since it took him a couple days just to make Daredevil a helmet.

Based on the other characters various situations that doesn't seem to be the case.

So according to the Russian interrogator, it's "the dead of winter".

The second half of Agents of SHIELD Season 3 begins and takes place in January. December's over, and February is too warm.

February isn't too warm in Siberia. Siberia's winters last up until April, and even February/March are still the "dead of winter" in Siberia.

I placed them in February to still make most of "dead of winter" comment and the fact that the end scene with Malick and his daughter skeet shooting shows the weather not to be snowing or extremely cold, possibly indicating spring or late winter (thus February seems best bet).

I don't know if this helps, but on tonight's episode of AoS the news references the gang war-Punisher thing from Daredevil Season 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PIodpclSMs&feature=youtu.be&t=56s

It took me a few viewings of the clip to notice so here's a screenshot for those that don't want to watch the video:

I think we can either ignore that as it is really out of place time wise or keep it in mind for the next series that takes place there and if it matches. They are probably just putting it in there as an Easter egg for fans

Actually, there's a simple solution for that, and it merely involves moving AoS eps 3x11-3x14 to December.

So according to the Russian interrogator, it's "the dead of winter".

The second half of Agents of SHIELD Season 3 begins and takes place in January. December's over, and February is too warm.

Even regarding this, its still entirely feasible its December when the interrogator mentioned "dead of winter". Again, December in Siberia probably qualifies.

Also, the Watchdogs are using nitromene that Howard Stark developed.

One of the other news ticker items is "LA Dodger Brady Kelly closing in on MLB record for most hits". This is pretty clearly a reference to the web series "Husbands", which features an LA Dodgers character named Brady Kelly and a cameo appearance by Joss Whedon. So if you want to add that to the timeline... ;) Seriously, though, this would seem to indicate that the episode takes place at some point during baseball season, I think--someone better versed in, y'know, sports should chime in as to when in or around the season this kind of headline would occur.

The only other ticker item is "Philadelphia DA to hold press conference to discuss shooting of local law professor", which I'm guessing is a reference to events on fellow ABC show How to Get Away with Murder. The Daredevil reference was really cool, but it would have been awesome for the other headlines to reference things from the MCU instead of other random shows...not quite as annoying as the nonsense text in the Bulletin papers, but a missed opportunity nonetheless. ;)

Yeah, like you said, they're just references to other ABC shows that don't occur in the MCU, so I'm just viewing them as in-jokes/easter eggs that have no bearing on the timeline. Besides, baseball season runs from Spring to Fall, and the "dead of winter" comment combined with the crossover with Daredevil (the news ticker that references the gang war in Hell's Kitchen) firmly put that in December, 2015.

Also, guys try to shift discussion/questions/comments over to thetimelinesite as I'm trying to focus discussion there.

So this is canon right?

So All Hail the King takes place before or after Civil War.

Well I can tell you I never believed it happened RIGHT AFTER Iron Man 3. I always pushed it to after the first set of AoS episodes but before Thor: TDW in my guide.

The news real does not refer to all hail the king. The news real speaks of a "tv movie" all hail the king interview was for a documentary.

All Hail the King occurs not long after Iron Man 3 ends. Maybe a few months at most.

The ticker at the bottom of that is advertising a TV movie of the week type deal based on Slattery. That in no way helps date the events of All Hail the King.

Well I can tell you I never believed it happened RIGHT AFTER Iron Man 3. I always pushed it to after the first set of AoS episodes but before Thor: TDW in my guide.

I doubt the real Mandarin/Ten Rings would waste much time before killing Slattery. The assassin pretty clearly conveyed how pissed the real Mandarin was that Slattery had made of mockery of his name. Again, I don't see the real Mandarin wasting that much time before killing Slattery. I say a few months at most only to account for Slattery to garner a following/respect from the other prisoners, but that may have also been immediate due to his high profile case.

All Hail the King most likely occurs soon after Iron Man 3.

^ This.

If the documentary airs on TV it is a TV movie.

There was no actual documentary. It was just a ruse used by the Ten Rings assassin to easily get into the prison and kill Slattery. Thus there would be no documentary to air on TV. Plus the "Production Begins..." and the movie title alone indicate its a TV movie of the week.
