Heroes seasons 1 & 2 series discussion [spoilers]

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

hey imo thats how id want him to die. i like the character, but if they HAD to kill him, i'd want it like that....

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Random thought #236...

Peter's power is to mimic everyones power around him.
Syler seems to be consuming brains and retaining the absorbed powers.

What if Syler is Future Peter? He absorbs Niki's powers, develops the evil twin, steals Hiros powers, and goes back in time?

If this were the X-Men, you might be on to something, but I don't think the general public is ready for the convoluted plots that come out of some comic books nowadays. :)

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

That'd make sense if it were his actual child. She's adopted though.

Well she could still be adopted if she doesn't have any actual parents of her own if she was created from scratch, now does she? :D

Who knows? He could be her dad anyway.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

The difference between how Lost has developed and how Heroes is developing is that Heroes doesn't have the same sense of mystery. It's close, but it's not the same. The difference comes from the fact the they're not going to be able to dodge around the science of how everyone got their powers.

I have to back Thor on this one. If the Glasses Guy had a test-tube kid, what would he tell his wife? She's on her own and needs to be adopted.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I forgot to mention, the flying scenes were awesome. He jumped straight up and there was silence for a second, and then *BOOM*...MACH 1! I got chills.8)

The landing was cool to. He's gonna have to get some thick-soled boots.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

What impressed me so much about the landing was that it was relatively painless. The Greatest American Hero never could get that one right! :)

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Dagnabit! Stupid show went long and so the ending was cut off of my recording. So what happened after Isaac opened the door for that girl?

I'd been wondering how the cheerleader would be connected to the others and I think I see how now. Since Glasses Guy knows about the mission, he'll probably work towards stopping it and inadvertently create the connection between the heroes and the cheerleader. The only other link might be if the missing painting has the word ODESSA written in it...

Nikki is... strong. Well, she'd have to be to rip bodies apart, but I guess we're to assume she was really pulling her punches with the goon in the elevator.

DL is interesting. Sure, we've all seen phasing/intangibility before, but it's remarkable that he's already so tricky with it.

No real surprises this week, but you can just FEEL everything coming together. I hope the resolution of this 'chapter' doesn't end up anti-climactic.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

she just blabs about being a big fan of his and then the show cuts to like an overhead shot of nikki with a voice over and she looks pretty dead. but i'm hoping im wrong about that.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Ditto. Someone let us know asap!!

When did THAT happen? I thought the show ended with Nikki lying there, possibly dead. They played the credits after that.

Did NOT see the twist with Mohinder's friend working for Claire's dad coming. That was right out of left field, and I loved the look on his face when she said "Save the cheerleader, save the world".

As usual, Hiro remains the most endearing character, learning more about being a hero and the consequences of his actions.

"Heroes don't hide".

So did I. He knows that they know.

"Heroes don't hide".

"Not if they want to live." There was nothing he could have done. She-Hulk gone psycho would of seen to that personally.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Thou canst not hit what doth not moveth in thy same time sphere

Granted if he is at a distance. But for the moment, she-hulk moves pretty quickly. It didn't take her long to tear those men apart.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I was blown away when I realized that Eden is actually working for the "bad" guys.

I like that the cheerleader's dad is clearly a bad guy, but still has many endearing qualities.

I'm worried the "chromosomal" disease is going to be the source of everyone's powers and her dad is trying to recreate it.

I predicted that Niki's alter-ego was framing DL, but I didn't expect DL to be such a empathetic character. I actually want him to stick around.

At this point, I think Niki's son is going to die, and she's going to totally bond with her alter-ego.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

(1) I know I have asked this before, but has it been 100% established, on-screen, that Claire's adoptive, glasses wearing Dad is a "bad guy"? I grant - the way he is shot, it is suggested that he is... but he did not harm the geneticist's son when he easily could have, he did no permanent harm to the mindreading cop when he could have (apparently, there was a very selective mindwipe...), he could have done a LOT worst to the teenage serial date rapist, and we are still not sure what he had in mind for the flying politician. No argument - he plays rough, for sure. And he has some sort of secret agenda. But is it a "given" that he is "a bad guy"? The look on his face when he heard the "Save the Cheerleader" bit was very interesting, but I read it as ambiguous... concerned, yes, but concerned as in "My plan is in trouble" or concerned as in "Claire is in trouble"?

(2) Chalk this one up to some illtimed noise during the program! GRRR! Is DL (Nikki's husband) basically a criminal? Realize this has been suggested earlier, and I understand that Nikki's nasty alterego (and I don't believe she is dead, IMHO - think it will be interesting, if I am right in that, to see if she becomes more "villainous" now that we have some insight into what she has been up to!) framed him for the murder of...er..."his crew".... but did he HAVE a crew precisely because he WAS a crook?

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

It's been mentioned before that the Glasses Guy might not actually be a villain. The only villainous act we've seen so far is the murder of the professor and we only know that Glass Guy knows about the murder, not that he had anything to do with making it happen. He's at least amoral though, since kidnapping the cop for a few tests isn't exactly a heroic thing to do.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Good stuff last night. I really love how this is playing out. Heroes is one of the shows I consistenly look forward to each week.

So some thoughts:
  • Completely shocked at Eden working for Claire's father. But it makes sense. She seemed to know too much about Mohinder's dad and was too enthusiastic about him finishing his father's work.
  • So Nikki seems to be like Hulk. Alter-ego stepping in when needed for self-preservation and then leaving with the norm ego having no recollection of the prior events. Good stuff....
  • My theory is that Claire's real parents were just operatives of whatever conspiracy group her father works for. Just actors used to get Claire to either come out or calm down. Not exactly sure.
  • I'm starting to hate Hiro's friend. Why say that you need to go to the bathroom when you could just tell Hiro that he has a gun and you need to get rid of it? Or better yet---why not just freeze time...take all the moeny and run. By the time you get to the car and unfreeze time---that'll give you a good headstart. I don't know....I'm just rambling. But I guess it turned out ok in the end since if they'd have stayed Nikki would've ripped them apart.

And my last theory---there was some science talk that went over my head a few pages back that may back this theory up---but I believed that the symbol was a key of some sorts. Like if you trace that shape over the genetics code Mohinder was looking at, that it would reveal a missing gene or some way tracking all the heroes down. So I think I was wrong. The symbol is similar to a DNA/RNA (not sure which is which----still technically don't care)module. Kinda like a missing piece of a puzzle. When I saw that piece I instantly thought of the genetics recombination sequence from Spiderman1 film.

Just a half-brained thought.....

Help me out here Houde.

its an RNA model. I missed the first half of the show, so could i get a recap? All i heard from a freind is that Hiro is getting a lightsaber, or is playing with one? and Eden being bad makes perfect sense now. wonder how that'd play out, cus it seems like Mohinder has a thing for her.
