Heroes seasons 1 & 2 series discussion [spoilers]

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

It's not showing in the Philippines yet, and unfortunately I have only enough time to download/watch LOST and Veronica Mars at the rate they're being aired in the US.

So I'm probably gonna have to hold off until the season is done, and a pirated/unauthorized DVD box set is released over here.

Still, it sounds intriguing, and Hiro sounds like an awesome character. Call me shallow, but it sounds very exciting to have an Asian male lead character on a TV show who isn't characterized as being either a 'strong, silent badass' cliche a la Jet Lee or Chow Yun Fat, or an irredeemably dweeby computer nerd type.

It sounds like Hiro's character acknowledges that the second stereotype *is* rooted in the real-life example of the 9-5 "salary man", but that's just one aspect of his personality. And the idea of a Future-Hiro being some kickass ninja guy actually seems like a fun nod to the other end of the Cubicle-Slave/Warrior binary.

(Actually, in some ways, that also kinda reminds me of the new Atom -- is that a fair comparison?)

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

This was my favorite episode by far. Mainly because everything is starting to come together and fall into place. I liked how now people are actually able to interact with Issac instead of him being passed out on the floor all the time.

Since when has Suresh been such a non-believing whinny *****???:? I mean, he was the one who got into his father's work so much, and now after he gets the door slammed in his face once, he gives up? WTF?!

Anyway, besides that, this show is really starting to pick up and go places.

"Save the cheerleader. Save the world."

Oh yeah.....Hiro still rocks.

Yep, I just about ODed on awesomeness when Peter's eyes rolled back. DL looks like he can absorb himself into walls or objects, or phase himself through them that is.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

If Peter is copying Isaac's ability, why doesn't he have to get drugged up too?

How in the world are they going to connect Claire to the rest of the gang?

A great episode but I have questions! :)

I don't think Isaac needs the drugs, but it just kicks starts it. Soon he will become more in-tune with his powers and he won't need the drugs.

Yeah but watch him do the drugs anyway...

As for how Claire catches up with the gang... I think it's pretty obvious the gang catches up with her.

This show kicks ***.

He speaks the truth on all accounts.

Anybody else think that Claire is some kind of lab baby?

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Really enjoying the show... how the pieces are gradually coming together, the sly winks to the comic book genre (and its fans) which are incorporated into each episode, etc. A couple of questions ...

> Has it been established - as opposed to suggested - that Claire's adoptive father, the man with the glasses, is clearly "up to no good"? Clearly, the suggestion is there - his scenes are shot to suggest a sense of menace, his mind-wiping colleague is presented in a menacing way, his comments to the geneticist's son (I am having a TERRIBLE time keeping name's straight on the show, with a few exceptions - apologies!) were troubling, etc, etc... but I am not sure we have seen him DO anything which is clearly, unambiguously EVIL, per se (unless I am falling victim to my not so reliable memory here! *S*). Plainly, he has a secret agenda. But... the "mindwipe" of the cop appears to have been pretty minimal, he did NOT kill the geneticist's son, he did not kill the high school rapist (guess we can argue about whether the complete mindwipe there was evil or not!), and so forth....

> Interesting (as noted above) that the "mimic" did not need drugs to access Isaac's "prophetic powers"... suggesting (as also noted above) that Isaac himself may not NEED them, as he now believes he does...

> I enjoyed the flight effects in last night's show (the "sonic boom" cloud-ring was a nice touch!) - realize budget limitations will keep things from getting TOO "showy", but that scene (IMHO) worked nicely!

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

That episode and the one before it have really brought me in. at the end i was saying, "don't end, no! tell Hiro what it is!"

its been awesome so far.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Did anyone notice the crack in Claire's father's glasses when he was talking to the football player?

It matched the design that Sylar has been leaving behind at his murder scenes.

DL is basically Shadowcat, as the previews for next week showed. I read an article in the TV Guide about his character and it said we'll torn over this guy.

It looks also as if Nikki has some sort of super strength in her alter ego form.

This show is filled with goodies that keep me coming back every week now. It even pre-empts Monday Night RAW for me! DVR's rule.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Great stuff last night. Seriously.

The politician just taking off and suddenly changing direction was completey awesome. And despite budget limitations---was done extremely well. I wish we could get stuff like that on Smallville instead of that stupid "wavy effect". Hell I wish we could get Clark flying. But anyways....

I don't really know how Nikki plays into all this. It's not like she even has a power.....just another personality. But DL seems to have intangible powers similar to Kitty Pride. So it begs the question---if Nikki has powers...and DL has powers....does their kid have powers? If so---what?

The cop thing kinda annoyed me. I understand that we're dealing with his personal life too and how that affects him but the whole thing just came off as a cheap skit from "What Women Want". How much longer can he keep that up before he has to tell his wife? And when she finds out---will she wanna be with him knowing the fact that he's been "cheating" at fixing their marriage?

This show completely rocks.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

well we also know that the cheerleader's dad's special friend has mind wiping ability. i dont know if that explains the ability to block thoughts tho.

and the cop getting ovewhelmed with his power.....ok. it means he'll need to control it somehow. and the whole save the cheerleader save the worl, im still not getting...

and i would like to what sylar has been up to

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

G So it begs the question---if Nikki has powers...and DL has powers....does their kid have powers? If so---what?

They keep mentioning that he is a genius, and he built this and that quite a bit. It has started to make me wonder if he has Forge style powers or something similar?

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Wow, I am hooked on this show. This was one of my favorite episodes yet.

Hiro has to be my favorite character now. The opening scene with him in the train was awesome. He just looked so bad *** with the trench coat and the katana. That and how he knew everything that was going on.

I'm liking that Peter's power seems to be to channel or mimic the powers of those around him. This would be really cool if he could start keeping the powers he mimics or start mimicing the intelligence of those around him, but if that happens it won't happen for a while.

I actually like that DL has powers. It makes no sense, but it creates a lot of potential for his character. The best thing about this is that it virtually guarantees that the kid is going to have powers. Niki's alter ego seems to have super human strength or something like that. It'll probably be expanded. She did manage to kick DL's ***, so it can't just be attitude.

The flight effect was pretty cool. I liked the contrails that formed around him while he was super sonic.

Random thought #236...

Peter's power is to mimic everyones power around him.
Syler seems to be consuming brains and retaining the absorbed powers.

What if Syler is Future Peter? He absorbs Niki's powers, develops the evil twin, steals Hiros powers, and goes back in time?

no offense, but that just sounds GAY. now i do like we're that could be developed. If peter has to die, then have him die cus he mimics syler's powers and cant stop them, so the others kill him.
