Heroes seasons 1 & 2 series discussion [spoilers]

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Bass, I like your theory.

HOWEVER.

Unless we have another case of more than one person having a power, I believe you can find the source of the blackout by reading through the graphic novels on the official NBC website. Mohinder found a patient in a hospital who could cause blackouts.

So yeah, I'm with you that perhaps Noah, Mohinder and Nathan have some kind of a master plan... but I don't think Mama Petrelli had anything to do with the blackout. Mohinder probably got Mr. Blackout from the GN onboard. I guess we'll see... unless it's Kristen Bell's character who caused that, since she is rumored to have electrical powers.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Do you think that the Kensei storyline will eventually tie up the end of "where did this mutations begin" with Takeo being the original hero? I think that would be a really cool way to introduce the opus of the generations and evolutions of the characters we're beginning to find more out about.

I think there's more to the Kensei storyarc than we think in this regard, yes.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

What if Kensei's ability is more immortality than just healing? Could he have been the one to kill Hiro's dad?

Hurm. In which case the blackouts served to draw attention to the assassination so it would be 'stopped'. Basically - I find it hard to believe that Mama Petrelli surviving the assault is because she's 'lucky'. Either she managed to save herself or she was never meant to be killed - it was only supposed to look like that.

What if Kensei's ability is more immortality than just healing? Could he have been the one to kill Hiro's dad?

I assumed Kaito had immortality and he was Kensei. Maybe Kaito has immortality. Maybe he's Claire's real dad or the father of Claire's mother or the Petrelli father. (He's English like Linderman after all.) Dunno.

But I'm sure Nathan killed Kaito.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Personally, it's not so much that I despise him directly, it's that I despise that it really looks like they're trying to sell him as an important, sympathetic, and .... *shudders*... wise character. Even worse, they seem to think they're succeeding. Next thing you know he'll be Claire's "cool" boyfriend or some ****.

I agree. I think the thing is that from the MOMENT he's introduced he's written so amazingly transparently that you can almost feel the writers' intentions for him dripping off. "OH, so THAT'S the 'cool' outcast who's gonna get involved with Claire, and who she's gonna fall for, and cause trouble generally because she's supposed to keep a low profile." This within two seconds. And the writers just don't have "cool" voices down well, like, say, Joss Whedon does. It just sounds forced. They do a better job with the older characters. And then the twist for his character is that.....surprise, surprise! He's got powers. Like 95% of everyone introduced. That needs to stop being a twist pronto. They better not give Noah Bennett any.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Tonight's episode had some interesting developments.

Sylar's back and he's stranded in some woods... Bummer. And no powers? Hmm... He and Peter must've been involved in something together and were seperated at the end of the process. I imagine Peter came off with all of Sylar's power. I don't know, I'm thinking aloud.

Umm...

Everything else was real good with the exception of the Mexican twins. They need to reach Mohinder already... And West? Yea, we don't even have to discuss how campy his character is, although he is somewhat redeemed now that he's got beef with Noah.

Also... If they kill Noah I'll be seriously upset with the show. It would be like Lindelof killing of Charlie - just because there's a painting that predicts his death it means that it's a garauntee that he dies. And, by the way, does that mean he's got powers of his own, too?

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I will ****ing rage if they kill off Noah. RAGE!

As for the rest, I like what's going on with Kensei and Hiro. It's an interesting dynamic. I, too, am getting bored with the Mexican twins. They need to reach New York already.

Oh, and DL being dead!? WHAT!? That threw me. And, of course, Nikki having the Virus and now working for the Company to get cured was interesting. Also. . .what the hell is with the Star Trek people showing up? First, George Takei and now Nichelle Nichols? And why do I get the feeling that she is also going to be a previous generation Hero? What's next? Leonard Nimoy as Sylar's father?

Oh, and I really, really hate West. Like. . .really. I think it's so ridiculous that he's now Claire's boytoy or whatever. Not only was it predictable, but he's still a douche.

As for Sylar. . .that should be an interesting storyline when it plays out. I'm glad we finally got to see Candice/Michelle's true form, too.

Finally, I'm not sure if I like Peter staying with the Irish criminals. I like the girl and her brother, but. . .I just feel it's a meaningless side story.

Overall, another solid episode. Sounds like next week, we'll be getting some answers to some of the lingering questions.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

D.L. being dead sucks so much. I mean... what the hell? One bullet to the side and he's done, even though he was alive when the paramedics got there. Meanwhile, Parkman takes FOUR to the CHEST and is perfectly fine?

I want both Mexicans gone. The only expression the girl can do is trying-not-to-cry. Bah. Who cares.

Still though, it was worth it just for the Sylar stuff. I'm glad he's back this early.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

So, did Sylar's indiscretions playing in people's brains give him the virus?

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I was pissed about DL being dead, too. He was one of the characters that should have made it out alive, you know? Given that there were people that were more damaged than he was by the end of the season... It would have only made sense to keep him alive. Perhaps when they detail the four months after the incident in New York or where the season 1 finale took place we'll see that DL didn't die of the bullet, but because of the virus or something. That would at least be insightful.

And, what I get from the painting that predicts Noah's death... Did anyone notice that Claire and West may have something to do with it? Just imagine this - our least favorite character shooting our favorite. Or, at least, MY least favorite shooting my favorite. That would suck.

yeah, looked like Clare and West kissing in the background of that picture. at least we know those paintings don't come true 100% of the time.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Twists and turns already. I'm enjoying season 2 so far.

I think West is "in" with the Company. He's basically trying to turn Claire against Noah. Something's just really fishy there, especially with the painting.

Does anyone else think maybe Sylar didn't kill Michelle/Candice/Betty at all? Maybe she's supposed to make him think that... could be the company or someone else observing him from a safe distance. Just because she appeared to be on the ground and dead doesn't mean much. Her powers deal with illusion, and she made Niki see Micah "dead" on the floor last season.

The twins' story is bo-ring. Three episodes and they still haven't made it across the border. Oh yeah, and if they want healthcare in the United States then they should try to immigrate legally. We can't have every foreign metahuman suckling at the teat of our profoundly superior healthcare system. (needle breaks on sarcasm meter)

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Really enjoyed the last episode, possibly the best of the new season so far. Loved Sylars return, after a couple of very slow episodes it seems to be picking up the pace again.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I thought the same thing about West. I don't buy his story at all.

I think the reason he remembers Mr. Bennet looking at him like he was a dog is because he was using his powers in a criminalistic sort of way.

What can you do? Tim Kring is a racist.

All I have to say about last night's ep is that my dad walked by during the cheesy flying scene between West and Claire and said, "Wow, I'm glad I decided to stop watching the show this season." :)
