Re: Heroes *Spoilers*
Dude, don't be demeaning. No call for it.
That said, I didn't see it as Sylar 'painting' that. It's a really good catch, Planet-Man.
In regards to the 'critique', I have to say, I agree with one point. The stupidity that Hiro doesn't tell Ando he's training with his dad. Hiro should've told Ando, but he didn't so we could have the Sylar/Ando/Hiro moment. I agree that it was contrived.
But that's all. The rest is nonsense.
Like how Heroes is a bad mystery show for putting it's pieces in play early enough for people to guess the ending while Lost is a good mystery show for having tiny little hints and then disregarding them in the final episode for a complete 'mind****' of an ending that comes out of nowhere giving a faux gesture of resolution. Or how Heroes doesn't have three-dimensional characters or character arcs, even though the original major villain of the show, Bennet, turns out to be one of the major heroes.
The man has no capability to critique. He makes as many points about the show as he does his contempt for the audience that watches it. He seems more pissed off about the people who watch the show than the show itself. When I bash Bendis or whomever, I don't tend to make large, offensive slams at the people who read them (or make them). I just bash the story. That's it. But this guy - apparently, I like McDonald's.
The guy's an obnoxious *******. Any valid points he makes about the show are forgotten in his rabid flaming of an audience. He doesn't 'tear into Heroes'. He just insults its audience. Good for him.
Any how, regarding Heroes;
Is anyone terrified for Hiro? Not the past stuff, no. I'm more worried about this - the only reason Hiro stabbed Sylar was because Sylar just wasn't capable of believing he'd do it. He'd faced him once in "The Hard Part" and Hiro ran away. He confronts him in the finale in Isaac's apartment - and Hiro runs away. Sylar's all, "You're kidding. This is how Isaac thought I'd die? Stabbed by a silly little man?!" So when Hiro appears and calls Sylar out, he's so, "Hiro won't stab me" and that's why he's so shocked (just look at the actor's face). But when they have a rematch (and it's so going to happen) - Sylar won't give Hiro that moment. So that rematch is going to have me ****ting my pants.
While we know Hiro's opening story arc for season 2 (I wonder if he'll be in 1671 all the time), I wonder what those in the present will do. I can imagine that if Hiro is finding out about his lineage in 1671, then maybe Bennet will be leading Parkman, Claire, and the rest to take down Mama Petrelli. No doubt Claire wants to bash her in. And Niki and DL will be interested to know more since they not only though they were the only superpowered people, but were part of Linderman's science experiments. It seems a very natural progression for these characters to be hunting down their origins. I wonder if Hiro's father will play a part in the present day and be present in both eras, and if Ando will be there to help.
One interesting thing I noted.
Isaac painted Hiro fighting a dragon. Now, he's in 1671 and maybe he turns out to be Kensei, maybe it's his dad, or maybe he plays a part in crafting the legends. One of them is of course fighting a dragon or what not - which of course, is what Isaac painted. So, Hiro will probably fight a dragon.
Buuuuut - Isaac paints the future. not the past. That means that dragon thing must occur in 2008+, NOT 1671... perhaps if Hiro comes to the present he'll open a rift (future Hiro mentioned this in "Hiros") and that thing will follow him through?
