Heroes seasons 1 & 2 series discussion [spoilers]

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Did anyone else think when Future Hiro said "You" at the end he was talking to Ando and not Hiro?

Is there maybe a betrayal in Hiro's future?

The whole time when Peter was "dead" I was literally yelling at the screen "Just pull the freaking glass out!"

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I figure....peter needs to think about the person to emulate their power..or be around them. If they had pulled the glass out when claire wasn't there...he wouldn't be able to think of her..due to having brain damage..and so wouldn't be able to regenerate, until claire went closer...what do you think? how vunerable is peter?

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Am I the only one who thinks that Nathan is actually considering allying himself with Linderman and letting 0.07% of the world's population die in explosion that Peter causes?

It seemed like he was totally against the idea, but then he realized that Peter might not die when he explodes and then when see Hiro in the future the news articles say Nathan is the president.

Personally, I think that would make Nathan's character pretty irredeemable but, at the same time, somewhat understandable.

That's the vibe I was getting, too. I think he's been spending too much time around Linderman and he's sending Claire and his mom, two major good influences, away. If he gets Peter to go somewhere away from him, watch out.

And I love Linderman. Best villain currently on TV.

I have to say, I had Nathan as going villianous from almost the start. He's an opportunist.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I'd like it if down the line a few of the heroes turned to the dark side as it were, and we have them battling each other...

Imagine a Dark Phoenix-like storyline with Peter's powers overwhelming him and sending him insane, or, yeah, Nathan actually allying with Linderman and assisting in his bro go boom.

I actually thought something different. I think Nathan will play Linderman. He wasn't going to do it becasue of Peter, but now he'll allow it. I also think he might evacuate NYC.

Thus he saves Peter and the innocents, as well cementing his position as President.

This also explains Peter's dream, where Nathan walks up to him and grabs his shoulder. He knows everything will be alright, because Peter can heal

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I've seen all the episodes, but never read the comics. Do you really need to read them? Do they have any important story elements that weren't in the TV series?

It depends how interested in the show you are. Its not necessary (and shouldn't be) to read them, but it definitly adds to the current story in the TV show in at the very least an interesting way, and it offers up character histories/backstories in a very profound way (especially the recent revelations about Linderman and the Petrelli's father meeting in Vietnam).

I recommend checking them out at the very least.

Agreed. It definitly adds a new and interesting dynamic to the character.

Of course he's an opportunist...he's trying to become a politician, after all.

You might be onto something there.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

The problem with evacuating New York City, other than the millions of people that would have to leave a highly urban area in a short amount of time, is that he would have to have an explaination for why everyone should leave and how it is he knows about it.

Still, if they can over come that plot hole, it could make for a very interesting plot twist.

Maybe he could have radioactive Ted give off a little bit of juice somewhere with another source of radiation, have someone conveniently walk by with a Geiger counter, and pretend it's the other source that's leaking. I haven't got a clue what the "other source" might be, though.

Not a bad idea. He could give a series of speechs on the importance of a strong homeland defense. Then make sure Ted gets picked up by an FBI agents Geiger counter, and then after the city is evacuated, Peter could blow up the city.

He'd have to convince Ted to do it first, though, which might prove to be a bit of a problem. [/understatement]

Or he could come up with some clever way of getting him to be in the right place at the right time.

And radioactive, but not radioactive enough to hurt people. Ted's got a lot of control now. Actually, any kind of blast from Ted would evacuate the place-terrorists with big, portable EMPs scares me more than terrorists with nuclear weapons. Still, it's risky and I don't think Nathan even knows Ted exists.

Linderman knows he exists, so it's not a big stretch for Nathan to find out about him.

I think what makes Linderman such an interesting character is that he's actually a man of vision. I don't think we could say the same thing about Nathan, so it'd be quite a character shift to see him come up with such an elaborate plan.

The thing is, Linderman has the explosion planned for the day after Nathan is elected into Congress. I don't think Nathan and ted will work together, esecially with Ted going after the 'mainframe' of the tracking system. According to the write ups I've read, both Ted and Peter are trying to leave NYC. How Ted finds out about the explosion,I don't know.

What I want to know is how Micah plays into this. The fact that Linderman knows almost everything helps add to the idea that he's leading the Company, but I still think it might not be him. But that's me.

Oh, and according to Kring, we get at least one new main character next season. It's a girl named Sparrow Redhouse I believe. Supposedlt, she's vital to the storyline. She's Indian (Native American for those technical and PC). I'm guessing if this is true, then there's alot of folklore about people with powers.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Anyone else think that all of the Heroes heading for NY at once is bad thing? Didn't crazy English invisible man say that Peter was going to explode from absorbing too many powers he can't control? Having every superpowered character in one city would be a good way for that to happen.
