Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

ye sure cos everyone in india sounds like that when they speak english

Actually, considering he's a university professor, and that his father had a strong english accent, it's not surprising he'd speak English like that. The way he speaks it is with received pronunciation, which is what India's knowledge of the English language would be from its times as a British colony. Back then, the British were all upper class - understand that no middle or lower class Brits would've ever been to India during it's time as a colony, and thus, those kind of accents would never have been introduced to the populace. It's not surprising at all to hear Suresh's accent be this way.

What pissed me off is that he called a football a "soccer" ball, which is just wrong, I'm sure.

Regardless, in the scenes in India where he's talking to Indians, he should be speaking Indian. I can only assume that the actor for Suresh doesn't know how to speak Indian (but if he's Indian, putting on a fake received pronunciation accenct of an Indian is very plausible), unlike the actor who plays Hiro can speak Japanese.

And boy was it weird to hear Sulu speak in Japanese.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I think the high point so far is "Homecoming".

Peter, ever since he became Keanu Reeves, is pissing me off so ****ing much.

But the rest is good. "Company Man" should be very tense.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I think "Company Man" is the best episode yet. I liked how the entire episode dealt with one big piece of this story's puzzle. Sure, it would've been nice to catch up with Hiro, Peter, Nathan and the rest of the folks... but this was something that had to be addressed and I think they did a great job with it.

Bennet having the Haitian shoot him and erase his memories of what happened worked out perfectly. It allowed Bennet to keep his human side that the whole episode worked to build up, while allowing him to keep on being the "company man". Great way to stick to his guns about keeping his family safe.

Maybe there was a bit of foreshadowing towards the end with Parkman. Eric Roberts mentioned what it would be like to have someone like Parkman working side-by-side with Bennet. It would be a good call to have Matt join "the organization with no name" (OWNN?), especially since it was Bennet and his group who had a lot to do with Parkman losing his job. From LAPD to Primatech Paper executive. Not a bad promotion.

Next episode looks promising, with the reveal of Linderman (I'm guessing). I guess it is Malcom McDowell after all, from the looks of things. Either that or Donald Sutherland (that would be interesting since Heroes is up against 24 on Mondays). I'm not sure if my eyes just caught it wrong, but it also looked like Nathan "laid hands" on Nikki/Jessica. I'd love to see him bring out some whoop-*** on her. She needs to be brought down to earth.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Great episode. The best part was probably the preview for next week's episode. Hiro gets his sword. Nathan confronts Jessica. Linderman revealed. Celeste not dead(not sure if this is real).

You mean Simone?

And I thought it was pretty obvious, even from the quick preview, that it was a dream-sequence or hallucination...probably for Isaac due to the guilt over pulling the trigger that killed her.

I did notice that almost immediately, but for some reason the edit function hasn't been working.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

The best part of the episode was the flash backs. I loved seeing Hiro's father as the head of the organization.

When the show started, the official NBC Heroes website had Simone up on the main page as "Weaver". I'm wondering if she's got some kind of dream/hallucination-related powers... might have something to do with Peter's dreams (dreams of flying, exploding). Maybe Simone dying was some sort of dream or group hallucination. This just dawned on me after watching the preview for next week.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

"Company Man" was ****ing brilliant.

Best episode so far, and... wow. It was good.

One thing that surprised me is why the Haitian, instead of running away during the nuke scene, didn't just wipe Mr Bennet's boss' memory of the incident. Then Claire would still be safe.

Regardless, this is a show that is definately getting better and better.

And as for Mr Linderman - I'm convinced of two things:
1) We've either seen him before (I thought Hiro's father was going to turn out to be Mr Linderman), but I don't know who that could be.
2) He's completely new.

Considering Sylar's face was kept hidden for so long, only to be revealed as someone we've never met before, it's probably Mr Linderman is a brand new actor/character, which would be disappointing I think.

However, part of me thinks he's Nathan or Peter Petrilli - from the future. Perhaps... even with a scar.

The idea of Mr Linderman being from the future makes a lot of sense - it would begin to explain why he's been collecting all these pieces, why he's connected to everyone.

Dunno. Should be exciting as hell.

And Simone seems to be unkillable, if the previews are to believed. Or, perhaps, she's a dream/hallucination as we've said. And "Weaver" Willverine, that's interesting. We'll see...

EDIT - Duh! Claude was hiding Simone! That's why he was at her building!

How many eps are in this first season?

Linderman is a public figure, so his identity isn't going to be a suprise to anyone but us. Even still I'm interested in who this mysterious figure is. I'm hoping it is someone like Donald Sutherland. That would be awesome.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

Best episode so far. Bennet and Hiro were my favorite characters untill this episode, Bennet is by far the coolest character in the series.
I didn't like Matt until that confront with Nikky, he is growing on me now and would be cool to see him as the new partner for Bennet.

One thing that keeps bothering me. Did Bennet really tried to kill Claude? Or he did the same as The Haitian did to him? Only shooting in non-lethal parts? He could set that "show" in the bridge with Claude if anyone was monitoring them.

And I think The Haitian didn't wipe Bennet's Boss' memory because he already have the proof he needs outside his brain. Erase the memory would only make him go after Claire AND The Haitian.

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

That'll happen anyway, they know the Haitian was hiding Claire.

As for Bennet and Claude - it seems to me, the gun goes off by accident when he shoots Claude the first time. Seeing he's shot him already, Bennet gets angry and frustrated that he shot him and in that moment, shoots him again.

I think, however, Claude tampered with his gun. I'm sure those bullets were blanks, and Claude had some sort of squib on him. If you look, Claude cleverly uses his invisibilty to make it look like he fell, but we know, since he gets out of it, he never did. I wouldn't be surprised if Claude was never really 'shot'.

And maybe, just maybe, all these memories are false... We'll see. I'm actually glad I can say that. "We'll see." This show is actually paying things off. Look at it - all the mysteries to date are almost fully revealed. What's left? Linderman, The nuclear plot, and the 'origin' of the supers. Everything else set up to date, has been revealed - who Bennet works for, who Sylar is, what happened to Professor Suresh, the Save the Cheerleader plot, Hiro's sword... I love that. I love that this show, unlike other 'mystery' shows, is actually revealing the mystery, piece by piece, tying it into a larger clockwork conspiracy.

It took 10 years, but finally, someone is learning from Babylon 5. Great stuff so far.

I'm really hoping Heroes doesn't fall into the LOST trap. I want them to wrap almost everything up by the end of this season and then continue to do that - establish a set of mysteries and an overarching story that are resolved by the time the season's over - for the rest of the series. The bigger mysteries (The origins of the heroes specifically) could be kept throughout the series, but I'd really like each season to feel like a full and complete storyline.

It already been confirmed Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, other stuff I can't remember) will be playing Linderman.

I think that the nuclear bomb plot will either be resolved in the finale, or in the first two episodes of season 2. I can imagine, instead of resolving the bomb plot for the finale, something else, that's been hinted at, will take the front stage and throw the series for a loop.

See, in Babylon 5, we had a mystery from the pilot - which is what happened to Jeffrey Sinclair (the main character) at the Battle of the Line (the last battle in the Earth-Minbari war). The Minbari, who were winning the war totally and completely (they were 1000 years ahead of earth technologically speaking), come to Earth. During the Battle of the Line, the last battle, Sinclair blacks out for 24 hours. When he wakes up - the Minbari surrender. No one knows why. This is the big mystery.

We find out what happened to Sinclair at the Battle of the Line in episode 9, "And the Sky Full of Stars", and we find out why the Minbari surrendered in the first episode of season 2, "Points of Departure".

But the season finale, "Chrysalis", has nothing to do with this arc. It is instead, the pay off to a background sub-plot that's been going on for several episodes innocuously, and builds up to a huge pay off in the climax season 4.

I can imagine that the Yagamoto industries or Mr Linderman being such a catalyst for a completely different story, and that being the finale. With the nuclear plot being revealed in the beginning of season 2.

And Malcolm McDowell?!

Re: Heroes *Spoilers*

I've read that Seaon 2 is about Hiro and his family, and things like that in Japan.

He'll be good, but I must say he always seems to play villianous characters.

I'm glad George Takei is going to have more of a role.
