Harry Potter Discussion (spoilers)

So they still have sand in their vagina over that?
Yes. Yes they do.

They still refer to us as "the colonists" and every 4th of July they fire cannons in the direction of the US, hoping one cannonball will skip all the way across the Atlantic and blow us up.
REVOLUTION!
We already done did that.
Paine is teh man
Indeed.

This 4th of July there was a Brit staying at my house, needless to say I had a fun time.

Anyone going to the midnight countdown?

I'm going because it just occured to me I've never gone to one, and this is the last one.

I'm going to drive by and moon you in line.

I did it to the PS3 line, I did it to the Wii line, and I'm gonna hit you Potterheads next. Be Prepared.

It depends. Do you live in Tennessee? Can you teleport?

If not, I am safe and protected from your o-so-cheesy mooning.

Tennessee is only a couple hours away from Cheeser.

Brentwood?

Besides, I plan on going early and get comfortable reading any other books inside the building until midnight. To moon me, Cheese would have to fight his way through untold scores of fans (likely angry ones, assuming he mooned them too,) Borders employees, and any security to get to the graphic novels section.

You know, if he succeeded, I think I understand why he used to be in Houde's sig.

You have no idea the lengths to which I will go to pull off a successful mooning.

So I just read the troll chapter of Sorcerer's Stone and came across this paragraph right at the end:

"But from that moment on, Hermione Granger became their friend. There are some things you can't share without ending up liking each other, and knocking out a twelve-foot mountain troll is one of them."

What a completely bizarre break from her usual narrative. I certainly don't remember reading anything else in this style in the series. Weird.

I plan on leaving at 7:45 to take the ten minute walk to the bookstore that's selling it at 40% off, with my iPod and a bunch of other stuff to occupy myself with. (Entertainment Weekly, I'm looking at you!) If it's raining, I'll go around 9. Also, at 12:05, when I start my walk home, I plan on cranking up the music on my iPod so that if any *******s decide to yell out spoilers from their cars, I'll just be blissfully unaware, listening to John Williams or something like that. :)

Sounds like a plan. Great HP avatars, by the way. :D

I can't believe it, but I'm actually volunteering to do the Midnight Harry Potter bash at our local Barnes and Noble. I worked for them parttime over Christmas and have frequent book discussions with the woman who runs the Juvenile Department. She asked me if I'd be interested in coming in and helping out. I usually avoid events like this, but I made friends with a bunch of staff members over Christmas, so it should be fun. Now I just have to find suitable attire, since I loaned the bookstore staff the four robes I made for the library's numerous Harry Potter programs. The manager told me they're billing this as the world's largest costume party, and she's hoping to get in the Guinness Book of World Records. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

Oh, and right now, there are three copies of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows sitting upstairs in my library. (You should have seen the confidentiality agreements we all had to sign. As though librarians are cruel and unprofessional enough to actually post spoilers on the Internet. )

Aw, just tell us. Or me. What's the worst that could happen?

That was a rhetorical question.

I did it to the Wii line
I was wondering whose *** that was...

Any-hoo, I most likely won't be getting it until Sunday. I don't mind though, as long as no one ruins the book for me by then, because I'm not planning to hide in a little hole in fear of spoilers.

Well, I have the book. I'm up to Chapter 8. I won't spoil anything in here or the other thread, because I'm too scared to leave the safe areas, but it's pretty ****ing exciting.
