MwoF - I'm not reading anything in this thread because I'm not caught up yet, but thought I'd let you know I've read up through "Underboss" where they guy reveals Daredevil's identity to the cops.

Whoa.

Real quick here. Got it in the mail today.

It's mostly a filler issue. Not revealing anything. Lennox can't be found by Dakota and Urich, Matt finds that Kingpin is not responsible for the death of Foggy, No one still knows who the fake Daredevil is.

Punisher seems real level headed at first until he snaps on a prisoner to test Matt's own sanity.

When Murdock and Fisk meet out in the yard and neither end up killing each other, Hammerhead, The Blind mobster, and Tarantula are all in a secret meeting discussing a riot at the prison that's going to leave both Murdock and Kingpin dead.

good issue not as heart racing as the others but they can't all be shock for shock.

Next issue The whole Prison vs. Matt Murdock vs. Wilson Fisk vs. Bullseye vs. Frank Castle.

3/5

See I told you Kingpin was not behind this.

Well then who can it be? Who is left, that is cunning enough to pull off such a scheme?

Owl or Hammerhead? Or is that too obvious?

DD recently broke Owl's arms and legs while questioning him, I doubt DD is going to have a final confrontation with a guy he put in a cast. DD determined that Hammerhead wasn't behind it after beating him up Hammerhead had no answers for the questions DD posed him. Remember DD's powers allow him to determine if someone is lying or not, DD already questioned Owl and Hammerhead and eliminated them as suspects, so its not them.

You have to cast a wider net of suspects. I think one possibility is that's its Larry Cranston. Lennox is supposed to be a lawyer, Cranston was once a lawyer, Cranston has a grudge against Murdock and the Kingpin and Cranston has shown himself clever enough to pull off this kind of scheme (he framed Karen Page for murder in 1998.)

So, MWoF, here is your conspiracy theory for the day - according to Joe Q, the latest (and, I think, last) issue of DD: Father is done and has been for a bit now, but they've been "holding off" on publishing it. This has lead to on-line speculation that the fake DD is Nico, and that the issue is being held until the big DD reveal to gain some readers curious about Nico.

As conspiracy theories go, I'm not sure this holds water, but it's interesting, yes?

You just confused the hell out of me. I thought you meant "Nico" from Runaways. Clearly you mean Nero from father. Quesada did say that Father was finished when I talked to him at the signing in Philly. I mean the only thoughts I really have about it, is that I hope it's true. It was tighten up Daredevil mythos a great deal and would make things easier for Daredevil fans to follow. Nero's also a kickass character and I want to see him play a more prominent role in the MU.

Owl and Hammerhead are sitting there like pawns in jail with Fisk. I'd like to think it was someone who wasn't limited by the walls of Rykers and was attacking Daredevil from the outside.

Maybe it's Tristram Silver.

Tristram Silver? I seriously doubt it, anyone who didn't read Identity Disc won't know who he is, an alias for Sabertooth. Sabertooth seems more interested in ripping people apart and trying to kill Wolverine than trying to build a criminal empire nowadays. Besides Sabertooth met DD like maybe once or twice, not the best basis for a rivalry. Now Sabertooth is a psychopath, so maybe he could have killed Foggy for sport, but Sabertooth does all his killings himself nowadays, he would have killed Foggy himself, not left it to an underling.

At this point I still think Larry Cranston is the best suspect. I believe Cranstron is still alive after his campaign against DD in 1998 (though, they never did explain how he survived his fall off a building in the 70s), Cranston has a grudge against both DD and Fisk and Cranston has played the mastermind type before (framing Karen Page for murder). Plus Cranston was a lawyer before he became Mr. Fear, so Cranston may have found it amusing to pretend to be a lawyer again under the guise of "Alton Lennox".

If the fake DD is Nero, I suppose I'll have to read DD: Father. :?

OK, I'm caught up on DD: Father. Except for issue 2.

If it is NeRo, I don't see why DD:Father #6 needs to be delayed. DD: Father is obviously taking place in the past...unless NeRo makes some kind of weird proclamation that we will be Daredevil if needed why should the release of DD: Father have anything to do with anything?

How's this for a theory?

 :x

First - Tristram Silver is not an alias for Sabertooth. Tristram Silver if anything was a crazy alias for The Vulture. But if you actually paid attention to Identity Disc ---
It's revealed that Tristram Silver is his own man working the scenes and that Sandman is under his employ.

I don't know where you get Sabertooth from?

And second I don't know why I'm replying to a post that takes one of my Tristram Silver comments seriously.

How far are you along in the regular series?

I would imagine that would be the cause for delay. Matt and Nero end up being friends and some "If you ever need help, I'll be there." line is dropped.

Completely. I'm totally up to date.

Okay, I guess I could see that. But if that's true, then witholding the issue only seems to confirm it, whereas if it would have just been released it would still seem a possibility but not basically confirmed.

Completely? And you have nothing to discuss? No overall impact it's left on your life? Tell me!!

You must have missed my posts on it. Daredevil and Punisher are, hands down, the best books Marvel is publishing and 2 of the best series I've ever read. Seriously, it's one of my favorites.

I always loved their relationship.
