Countdown Series Discussion (SPOILERS!)

Didio talks about the Countdown teaser image.

I'm honestly not too thrilled by that analysis of the teaser (or DC as a whole right now), but the idea of a Challengers of the Unknown with Donna Troy and Red Robin intrigues me... I can't say why.

My bet is, with Donna's role in the New Teen Titans, and Jason Todd taking on a Red Robin identity, the Challengers of the Unknown will mutate into New Titans. I think I could get excited about a team that travels the multiverse.

So Challengers of the Unknown will basically be Exiles? Lame.

No Challengers of the Unknown series ever lasts. FACT.

And I've been through more than a couple.

Hopefully not. There's only 52 worlds, so my guess is, they'll be going to the corners of the different worlds and looking at them in more depth. After all, each of these worlds is a universe into itself and there's endless potential in each one (just look at the Bleed, which still exists in Wildstorm). But that's just a shot in the dark.

Hm...

That's extremely cool. It has me interested in Countdown, which is extremely boring.

I like it better than the hero teaser...

So... many.... evil.... Supermen....

and the idea of Joker manipulating Catwoman is awesome.

Edit: Here's my bet for the future.

Catwoman becomes a bad guy again. maybe Holly
Martian Manhunter is a mole. Looks like he's going to kill or try to kill Joker.
Desaad betrays Darkseid (and here's hoping Darkseid dies), and we'll see a new group of insurgents taking over Apokalyps.
Eclipso must be working in tandem with the eeeevil New Gods. Mary Marvel becomes a Fury in the new regime change.
Luthor has good intentions (well, for him), but he ends up being somehow responsible for the great disaster.

As for the Supermen, one's obviously cyborg Superman, but what about the others? There's a Crime Syndicate Superman floating around still. There's Superboy. There's the evil Conner Kent from Titans Tomorrow, and there's Kingdom Come Kal-L. Any bet on which of these the extra Supermen are supposed to be?

Oh, and Penguin's working with the Apokalyptians... Maybe he's the one who was helping ship all those Apokalyptian weapons into Gotham for Intergang? We know the Trickster's meeting him over the course of Countdown, so my guess is, Trickster ends up working for him.

It sounds like its going to be the old Grant Morrison Challengers: Beyond the Unknown pitch.

Does anyone else like the Black and Silver Superman costume as much as I do? I just love it.

Did anybody else notice Hippolyta's shield behind Mary Marvel and the other two (it was also in the first teaser picture)? Seems like she will have a bad falling out with Mary when she returns to the DC universe.

Not. . . innuendo. . . mustn't. . . reply. . .

I'll take over, Joe.

What Joe really wanted to say is "Why is Trickster holding Piper's flute?". If they're going to go "to the bath house" they should just be upfront about it. This is the 21st century, after all. Which, in America, is sort of like the Dark Ages but we have TVs and iPhones.
