Bryan Singer on Ultimate X-Men.

Yeah, but does anyone know why? I'm assuming it might have something to do with directing the new Superman movie and this comic writing having their schedules conflict, so maybe they pushed it back. But more importantly, what does this mean for the title. Will Vaughn's run be extended, or will they have a fill-in writer come in for six months? I would love it if Vaughn's run were to be extended, but don't know about the likelihood of it due to his obligations on other titles and I think I remembered reading he was working on another new title, but I could be wrong. Anyone who may know, please pass the info on!
That's one guess. But Quesada said that Singer handed in scripts for the issues a while ago. I see no need in lying about that. So as I said above, its most likely that.

I mean, the NA arc of issues #16-21 is just around the corner. So Marvel probably wanted McNiven to do those issues before heading out Ultimate X-Men. Its the guess that makes most sense, really.

Yeah, I guess. And I remember reading about the scripts being done and turned in, so I guess its just the aim to keep Singer's run with just the one artist, McNiven (which I kind of prefer over different artists). I find comics to be much more reliable at telling a good story when you have a creative team who have been working together for awhile--though lately this hasn't been the case in USM, but I can't really blame it on Bagley as the real weak point has been Bendis' writing, though to be fair Bagley hasn't really wowed me too much either lately, which might be why I'm so looking forward to the USM Annual, the artwork is new and its very interesting to look at, highly detailed, less cartoonish than Bagley's. I'm still very curious to see what we can expect as to the writer and artist (maybe Immonen will stay on the title for a bit? who knows) for the title from December to May, assuming Singer's run starts in June. I'm an Ultimate news addict, what can I say.

Irish - I assumed that the details on this (like who will be writing between Magnetic North and Singer's run) will be revealed in a Wizard exclusive. Nobody has said anything yet as far as I know.

I'm sure I hears that Vaughn was writing UXM with Brian Singer - so does this mean that he's staying on for an extra six months?

Does Vaughn have his own message board? Someone head over there quick and ask him!

Somewhere on that site...

Re: Bryan Singer on Ultimate X-Men.

This don't make no sense.

In Wizard #170:

Mike Carey and Pascual Ferry will do a two issue fill-in run on Ult X-Men, pushing back Bryan Singer's run until Feb, 2006.
Do they really mean 2007?!

I'm confused. Vaughan ends next month, then what is supposed to be happening after that? What is confirmed now?
I have no clue. I think they got something mixed up, obviously. :?

So SInger had been pushed back to to when? Was anyone named to fill in the months between Vaughan and Singer before?

On the actual series, Kirkman is writing. Mike Carey and Ferry are doing the UXM/UFF two issue special. Singer is supposedly now scheduled for Summer 2006.

I think you *may* be, because at the moment, Singer is still due in next summer. And each arc of Kirkman is 3 issues. So your 'April to July' is wrong.
