Bryan Singer on Ultimate X-Men.

I know. But already we had 2 reports from Joe Q. saying "Scripts have been turned in". 2 reports, MANY months apart. If they weren't, why not just say that they haven't because of the guys' schedule? Im really leaning on what Guij said as the probable truth.

Dammit, this woulda been a good question to throw in for the Wizard Q & A for Ultimate Marvel.

They would have lied.

Re: Bryan Singer on Ultimate X-Men.

Ok, after reading the article, seems it was written before the news of Kirkman coming on, which led to believe they probably screwed up. But they didn't.

Doubtful. Probably cause Bryan Singer is a busy man... he's doing Superman. Cmon....

Wizard had an article in the most recent issue explaining why Singer hasn't come on. It said that Bryan's been busy with post-production of Superman and needs time. so, Mike Carey and Robert Kirkman have jumped on board to cover Singer's interam. We'll see what happens from there.

Yes, but people have been saying that Singer turned in scripts awhile back.

My suspicion is that while Singer & Co. have submitted scripts awhile back, the extra delays are necessary in order to rewrite or update certain elements in order to account for the new threads, characters and ideas that Vaughan has introduced.

So even if he DID turn in stories as early as Marvel is claiming, there would be a certain amount of rewriting that is probably necessary at this point.

Yes, that's exactly what it is. Vaughan may have written his finals story as a lead-in, but now that there are more stories in between Singer and Vaughan, there needs to be significant edits.

Also, is Vaughan still going to co-write?

I think that's a lie. We know he's not even writing the scripts.

See, that's what editors are for. Editorial would already know what Vaughan had planned. If they didn't comminucate that to Singer before he handed in scripts (which he didn't do, I'm sure), that would be idiotic. I don't think they are idiotic.

I think that for whatever reason, we are being lied to on a near cosmic scale about Singer. I can't imagine anyone cares enough that it would be necessary, but whatever.

Re: Bryan Singer on Ultimate X-Men.

So, now that we're seeing all of these villains released from the Trisk, do you think that, instead of having Singer Ultimize new characters, he'll just use the older ones? I'd really love that and I think he'd do the Brotherhood well, actually.

Re: Bryan Singer on Ultimate X-Men.

Well, the problem with Millar's run in general was that he treated the audience to a character and really seemed to catch our attention with them, but then allowed them to slip into limbo. I was beginning to think by the time Multiple Man came around that Millar was seriously running out of cool ideas with the characters he had on his plate.

Re: Bryan Singer on Ultimate X-Men.

I was never really looking forward to Singer's run, although I like his movies a lot. I get the feeling that he'll try and shape it to be his X3 and possibly disregard a lot that's happened. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

What I'm really looking forward to is the announcement of the new permanent writer. Vaughn was only supposed to be on for a couple issues but thankfully stayed a while, and Kirkman seems to be doing a few which should be cool. Who's going on after that? That's what I'm excited for.

Yeah Kirkman's doing 9 issues.

Isn't that supposed to be Singer?

Not gonna happen. Why does everyone act like Singer's an inconsiderate pompous jackass when it comes to these mythos. He knows the difference and he's definitely going to have been caught up on his homework when it's his turn to write. Considering what he wants to do... Kirkman says he's taking a step toward the Pheonix but Singer also had that slated considering his ending to X2. I'm banking on Apocolypse. Never hinted at in the movie-verse and I can see some major things happening with him. Vaughan nudged Apocolypse a bit and since he left it wide open at the end I think it's so Singer can take a hold of it.

But yeah, Singer is a fanboy like the rest of us. He deserves to write comics if he has the oppurtunity too.

I don't think he's a jackass, I think the man's brilliant. I'm just relaying my fears, as irrational as they may be.

From what I remember though, he's supposed to be doing something with Magneto. Vaughn stated in an interview I believe that Singer asked him to free Magneto since he already did his own Magneto escape story.

Because he supposedly had the audacity to demand that the title be changed to "Bryan Singer Presents....Ultimate X-Men" for his run...AND HE IS USING GHOST WRITERS.

Yeah, but from hearing that Singer can't write to save his life, it doesn't piss me off THAT much.

That's what the rumor was. I had never even heard that anyone else had offered it or anything; it was his demand.

Oh my God. If he can't write to save his life, he should not be writing.

Yeah, don't you remember that someone posted a long, long time ago that Singer had written something (cant remember something what it was) and that just how he had written the script was found horrible or something like that.
