Bryan Singer on Ultimate X-Men.

Well, who knows if those were the scripts that Marvel is going to use, after all, it was just a little bit ago we found out Vaughan was co-writing. I don't think we'll have that many delays since Vaughan could probably help him out when he's in a stitch... :) I actually am not going to say anything more about Singer coming onto the title, at least nothing negative, because, now that Vaughan is there, I have total confidence the story will be grounded.

I think they'll use it. Just with Vaughan now, he'll do maybe some re-writes and stuff of what was handed in before.

I just can't wait until October, so we can finally see what they're gonna be doing on the title!

Scripts were done a while ago.

And McNiven is awesome about getting things done on time. So if it is true that the scripts were done a while ago, we probably shouldn't see any delays.

Well not saying Singer's run's going to be a bad one. I'm very fond of the man. But I'm sure something will be delayed for some reason during his run. Although, I do love the fact that he's working with Vaughn for hopefully the reason that he can pick up any slack left by Singer.

Delays are inevitable with any Ultimate writer... I'd be surprised if Singer gets away without any, actually. Regardless of what has already been accomplished, I find it hard to believe it's going to be smoothe sailing for UXM.

McNiven is done with New Avengers. He has time NOW to start Ultimate X-Men. I dont think there would be any delays, at LEAST, by McNiven if he starts now. Specially since the covers they can have done within maybe 20-30 minutes, (just taking a wild stab here).

I guess you're right, but there are other things that could potentially create delays. Arists aren't always the reason. ;)

True. Like Secret War was delayed cuz Bendis re-wrote scripts. Still, I dont think there should be any delays. I mean, BKV should be done by now with the scripts for Magnetic North, so most likely he should be looking over, re-writing if any, etc., with the Singer/Doherty/Harris scripts.

Yes, yes, I know... Thing is, we didn't think there were going to be any art related delays on Secret and look what happened. I know I'm being a nag, but we've just gotta keep our eyes opened for them. I don't want anymore delays to come as a shock to people... Not that they will! :)

Of course, delays always seem to creep around the corner. :shifty:

But I doubt Marvel would be stupid enough to take McNiven off again.

A cover in 20-30 minutes???

Tell you this, if I could knock up a decent cover in 20-30 mins I'd be making a mint right now.
Hell, I can knock up a decent cover in two minutes, but them covers don't like a man who's a quicksilver in bed.

I actually don't think it's a far cry from the truth, guys. I can kick out modern-day Mona Lisa's in that amount of time! :) Seriously...

Do you just press the green button on the photocopier? :D

Has Singer's Ultimate X-Men run been pushed back till Summer 2006?

I posted this in the Marvel Hulk vs. Wolverine/Ultimate Invasion Announcement thread, but figured it deserved its own thread. From the panel report:

Finally, Quesada said Bryan Singer [with Brian K. Vaughan] and Steve McNiven's Ultimate X-Men story arc should hit sometime in summer of '06, which is a change from information given just last month in San Diego, when it was announced the Singer arc would begin this winter after the conclusion of the current "Magnetic North" story arc.

Anyone else notice this? So it went from December 2005 to Summer 2006? More delays. But whats this mean for the title? Magnetic North will end in November, so what can we expect from the title from December until Summer 2006? Will Vaughn stay on the title longer than expected (man I would gladly accept this), or will a fill-in writer come on for several months?

my guess-

My guess its because marvels putting back mcniven in NA in issues 16-21. but nothing official has been said. either way, this has me pissed off.

first, singer was coming on JAN. 2005. Then summer 2005. then DEC. 2005.

Now Summer 2006!!!! :furious:

This is just ****** ridiculous.

Its been said that in the Ultimate Panel from WWTC. A lot of people have been not happy/confused about that.

Yeah, but does anyone know why? I'm assuming it might have something to do with directing the new Superman movie and this comic writing having their schedules conflict, so maybe they pushed it back. But more importantly, what does this mean for the title. Will Vaughn's run be extended, or will they have a fill-in writer come in for six months? I would love it if Vaughn's run were to be extended, but don't know about the likelihood of it due to his obligations on other titles and I think I remembered reading he was working on another new title, but I could be wrong. Anyone who may know, please pass the info on!
