Bruce Timm Universe Adoration Thread

I thought they meant they cancelled it during season 2 and so decided to alter the concept to make it into an episode that season.

They were going to but it developed into the Justice Lords, they still most likely would have done the Cadmus arc, just not with the J lord's

I just saw on wikipedia that Lucy Lawless is set to play Wonder Woman and NPH to play Flash on Justice League: The New Frontier. ROCK!

I have a hard time believing they'd do that, the concepts are so similar it would look like a total rehash.

Seems so considering when it was meant to be produced. Bear in mind that when they did Starcrossed, they didn't know they'd be picked up (hence why they blew up the Watchtower and got rid of Hawkgirl), so when they got picked up, I'm sure that's when this was discussed.

As for it being a rehash - it seems its purpose was to give WW her invisible jet and balloon the League to its 60+ members, which is a rather different purpose than the Justice Lords, which is about a dark mirror version of the Justice League. I dunno how it was meant to go, obviously, but that's how it seems to me.

Kyle MacLachlan as Superman and David frickin' Boreanaz as Hal Jordan is what's getting my juices flowing.

Plus, Batman looks ****-cool. The 1939 Batman costume has got to be one of the only gray Batman costumes that I REALLY like.

In other news, I watched Almost Got 'Im yesterday and it's as good as ever. Birds of a Feather is a fun, if overly silly affair that just adds to my disdain for Penguin as a common thief rather than a white collar mob boss.

I may or may not request the remaining seasons of BTAS for Crimbo this year. I'm undecided. Opinions?

I have all the BATMAN: TAS episodes and I'm happy because of it. :D

BTW, when is the NEW FRONTIER out? This is the first I've heard of it.

What would've been best and logical from the Timmverse perspective is to do a "Supergirl and Legion of Superheroes" cartoon.

That way you still got your continuity intact in case you want to have a couple guest shots of past heroes.....and yet it allows you to focus on other DC characters that don't constantly have to have Batman or Flash or Wonder Woman showing up.

Yeah....I would've watched it.

As long it's better than the Superman and Legion of Superheroes cartoon I would be happy with that.

I've mentioned before I like supergirl and wish they did more cartoons / movies / games wise. I don't want her added to Justice league when they have superman. I want it all about her so the character can actually have some of superman's spotlight which let's face it some superman stuff to make him more popular was not needed.

E.g Justice league. If I was writing Justice league I would leave out batman and superman , maybe an unpopular decision but I would replace them with Nightwing and Supergirl so that they could Justice leauge as a stepping stone in to getting movies / games / cartoons.

I hope my opinion makes sense. It's hard to explain you know.

No, never.

I get why you'd you like to do that......but no.

It's just fundamentally wrong.

I'd think about it too.

I'm not sure Superman and Batman are the best options for the JLA. There's a lot of awesome in them being there, but there's also some stupidity - I feel you have to... 'shrink' them to fit with the rest of the league.

I've found the current season to be fairly enjoyable, even with future clone Superman.

"I really don't get along with kids........I stepped on one once."

I admit I stopped watching after first season , I just thought it sucked. But that's cool

Well the second season has all the characters older and with a slightly different art style and there are more members of the Legion present in the episodes instead of the same 5 or so.

Almost Got 'Im is still just about my favourite episode. A couple years ago myself and and three friends -all of whom huge Batman fans who hadn't seen the cartoon since they were 6- ordered two party-sized pizzas and watched over a dozen random episodes. We had to pause the the disc for about a minute we were laughing so hard at Killer Croc's story and the reaction shot.

Dare I say it's the best party-episode of any Timmverse cartoon?

...

I dare! It is!

Which do you have left? I think the first season is the most worth it if you've already seen all the episodes anyway, because the featurettes are so long and good.

After the kinetic pace and multitude of characters in JLU I find it hard to go back and watch B:TAS. It's so slow moving, and there are so many dragged out two-parters.

Probably my biggest hurdle to get past when trying to watch the early B:TAS episodes.

I'll still watch 'em....but I just don't really enjoy them as I used too.

Yeah, when I was a kid there couldn't've been a better cartoon. I remember being so excited to get home from school and watch the second half of the Two-Face episode.

But things have changed so much and we're so spoiled by what's come since that it's hard to look back on the older stuff and appreciate them quite the same way.
