Speaking out of complete ignorance of the Deadpool arc, I do want to say I think you guys are being too harsh about maintaining the "essence" of the character. I mean, what "essence" was maintained about Ultimate Sinister that came from 616? A pompous mutant researcher with no scruples vs. a down on his luck, tatooed street thug with a stutter? Personally I loved Ultimate Sinister, but I don't think they bothered trying to maintain some "essence" of the character.

You know, I'm not sure it was the character of Deadpool that was disappointing or more how the arc was portrayed. It became a 4-issue long brawl. It could have been done better with "Dark Deadpool", Warriors had an actual plot, and worked. It would have been better in UXM though, with Spidey guest starring.

I though Ultimate Sinister worked in a lab for Osborn. i thought he was a scientist down on his luck and injected stolen serums into himself.

Yep, so there was that scienctist that went overboard aspect. But what they did to him was very good and cool. But with Deadpool it did not work, I'm not yelling for the idea I thought the rest of the issues were good, its just Deadpool needs to be not that serious, turning him into an anti-mutant guy really didnt fit. If it wasnt Deadpool than I'd be okay with the arc. I'm not upset when someone tries something new and fails, it trying something that is completely stupid and they should know better. like a monkey infect brain baby iron man, or a She-Wolf-Goblin MJ that really pisses me off.

Omega... I have to give you credit for holding onto your views. Your preferences may be wrong :)wink: ), but you stand up for them. Anyone who can participate in this board and still maintain a like for UIM is pretty ballsy.
 
Basically if you were a fan of Deadpool, you would want the new remake of him to be just as cool. Deadpool would have been a good ultimization.....if he was Bastion or some kind of Mutant hater. This Deapool sucks *** compared to the original. Do you realize how much more enjoyable and funny it would have been to get your *** handed to you by a ranting, wannabe comical lunatic? That would have been hilarious. I think we should stop arguing,pitch in for a gun and shoot bendis right in the brain

I had forgotten that part.

Still, the best argument that comes from that is that Sinisters "essence" is that he is a scientist, and they brought that into the Ultimate U. Weak. He's still a completely different character.

You're retarded. There's a thin line between crazy and sinister. either way your meesed. Deadpool was crazy yes, but he was aware and used comdey from going even more crazy. This Ultimate Deadpool is just stupid.

I feel I need to say this again.

Deadpool did not come across as a mutant hater to me. He was playing to the camera. Off camera he seemed to view the X-men as just another job.

I'd prefer not to kiss your tucas. I just noticed you seem to be referencing obscure characters that have no business being Ultimized. I mean Sugar Man and Bastion are both obscure products of the 90's comic bubble, that should not be seen again. The only reason they were in the game was that Sugar Man is from AoA, and Bastion has a connection to Master Mold.

If you get a chance, you should read the comics with Sugar Man though.. I think its the AoA series with Colossus and his sister, but I dont know the titles name.






And I think calling me retarded is a little out of line.
 
Sugar man was mentioned in another thread and it was a joke. And you didn't even acknowledge anything that I said about Sinister or deadpool.

Right. Because I made my point about Sinister, and you made yours about Deadpool. Now I need to find somewhere to d/l the arc from, so I have a vague idea what you are talking about when it comes to Ult Deadpool. Because without having read the arc, I don't understand the point you are making.

That may be true. Be interesting if he was doing just that. If there was something he had in common he had with the 616 Deadpool, it was his mouth. Man that guy didn't shut up. Even playing to the camera.
 
people the reason people don't like ultimate deadpool is because they EXPECTED him to act identically to they way he does in 616 just with a different back story, but instead of doing the character justice bendis made a joke out of him just like he has done with so many other characters (half of spider-mans rogue gallery)

people expected deadpool to have the same attitude that he does in 616 (jim carrey on a bender) but instead we got something different (vince vaughn after a car accident)

deadpool is one of those characters that they have to be really careful about when they ultimize him because what people like about him is his personality and the characters personality is what is changed most often in ultimizations, bendis should have kept deadpools attitude and ditched his background for something else, but instead bendis did a wholesale change on the character and that upset alot of people
