Batman: The Brave and the Bold (series discussion)

Hah. I kind of dig this show. I record it, and then I'll go back and watch it after I've consumed copious amounts of novelty tobacco.

Man, if this syhow came out when I was a kid, I would have loved it.

I have found a woman for Bass!

Get it? She's blind so that's the only way a woman would date you. I'm calling you ugly and mocking a serious disability that will forever haunt that woman's life. In one post!

:lol::lol: Blind people *wipes a tear from laughing too hard* hilarious

Hah! Hehe! Mole! When did you get funny?

(Mole wins the thread for his awesome post. There, I said it. I'm man enough to admit when I've been totally humiliated.)

The Jonah Hex segment made no sense at all and I am down with that.

Bronze Tiger's animal form looks like Tai Lung from Kung Fu Panda.

And the preview for the Owlman episode was amazing.

Setting up the story like they did the Earth 2 Graphic Novel, just instead of Luthor they're using The Red Hood, since they have been avoiding Superman like the plague in this series.

But Still... This episode will be awesome for Owlman. I ****ing love stories with The Crime Syndicate.

I just watched the Bronze Tiger episode. First time seeing the show, and I don't see what the big deal is....the animation style is meh. The overall feel makes me think that the show is confused about whether it wants to be campy 1960s TV Batman (specifically the look of Batman himself, and the opening montage with him climbing with the Bat-rope), or the 1990s animated Batman (specifically his character traits and voice .... the voice actor sounds like a bad mimic of Kevin Conroy). Obviously the tone is lighter than most of the recent Batman stuff. And Batman doesn't really fight any of his classic foes. And he doesn't really appear as Bruce Wayne at all.

In all honesty, the Bronze Tiger episode was probably the weakest.

It's not so much a Batman show as it a DC Universe show with Batman as the viewpoint character.

I just read the first issue of the comic book version.

'twas terrifically spiffing, eh wot? I bally well liked it! :D

I've still not seen an episode of this yet. I probably should.

That episode came the closest to showing us Bruce Wayne.

I really enjoyed the Bronze Tiger! It was so much fun.

Yes! It's terrific!

Seriously, you need to catch a Green Arrow episode, or the Lantern one, or Plastic Man...

Bronze Tiger was an okay episode, but not one of the best.

As to Batman's voice, Kevin Conroy was fine enough, but I'm loving Diedrich Bader.

I can't take him seriously honestly. I hear his voice and all i can think of is Hoss Delgado or Oswald. Gentleman Ghost was cool though.

I almost feel as though I'm admitting defeat by posting this and admitting that I think it looks pretty cool.

That being said, Jett's got it wrong. They're not trying to make him look like 1940s Joker. He looks like he walked off of a Dick Sprang cover, which would have been mid-50s to early 60s.

EDIT: For whatever reason, that website seems to have some sort of url-lock, which means that link will only direct you to the main page. Look under 'The Brave and the Bold' for the cool image of the Joker.

Oh man the Owlman two-parter was great.

Red Hood was fantastic, especially his flashback scene with the mirror.

And we get Joker next week! Yay!

I'm hoping the Injustice Syndicate's world dosen't have that "evil will always triumph" feature. Just because I thought it was always depressing.
