Yep, Morbius is one of many characters who work much better away from the property he was established in. I see him more as a Legion of Monsters character than he ever was a Spider-Man Villain

ah, I see. The wikipedia article on Morbius says he is captured by Zombie Morbius...
A zombie vampire. That's like the turducken of monsters.

3 and 4 are, and exceptionally good for Marvel Zombies books

especially 3 with Machine Man in fleshie hating robot heaven

I'll have to give those a read then. I was assuming that they were based in the same continuity as the first series since they are titled "3" and "4", and there is no way for the first series to be in 616 continuity.

The Zombies managed to get an interdimensional portal working or something, don't remember exactly

but Machineman going hog-wild in the Zombieverse was hilarious

From Wikipedia
Zombies invade Earth 616—the mainstream Marvel Universe—by entering through the Nexus of Realities in Florida.

But anyway, back to Spidey. I hear that #611 is really good but I haven't picked it up yet. Joe Kelly needs to be writing this more.

I tried #611.

I just don't get this comic.

Vambie actually.

I liked it, the whole scene with Lady Stilt-Man was hilarious, and then Spider-Man and Deadpool get into a Yo' Momma insult match.

They are really great and as they said the zombies come to the mainstream universe. Appearances with Nextwave-Machine Man against Zombies in 3 and stuff involving The Hood trying to get the zombie virus in 4.

It is EXTREMELY hit and miss. Pretty average for the most part but it has its moments.

I say this having only read up through American Son - I read it in trades.

Yeah, thrice a month hasn't helped the quality. ASM is one of Marvel's flagship books so it doesn't need to be good to sell well. To be honest, I'm a hardcore fan of Spider-Man comics and I just enjoy reading Spidey almost every week.

I don't think it's that. It has a rotating team of writers so it's not like it's Bendis writing 15 books a month, stretching himself thin and having it show in his work. But the writers could definitely be better.

Has anyone said how long they plan on doing it like this - having this be (basically) the only Spider-Man book and having it come out weekly?
