well, i guess that arc is over.

It was a pretty big let down. But we know that 'The Other' and the clone saga are still in continuity.

I never read the "The Other" arc, except for summarizations, what in the arc made it possible to infer it was still in continuity? Although I never considered not continuity in the first place I must say :p

In 'The Other' Spider-Man dies and then comes back to life as a more 'evolved' bestial Spider-Man. He has new powers which include organic webbing (gone in Brand New Day) and a few other things, but one of the powers is that he can stick stuff to his whole body and not just his hands and his feet. In this arc when Kaine tries to pull off his mask, Spidey thinks "I need to try to stick my face to my mask so it doesn't come off."

thats not really what the deal with the other was, but it's close enough

the organic webbing came from Spider-Man: Disassembled btw

Oh, I never read Spider-Man: Disassembled. Alright, I'll bow to your superior knowledge in this area.

Either way, Spidey dies and comes back to life with new powers. One of which is the ability to stick stuff to any part of his body (not just his hands and feet).

I knew about the whole evolving thingy in The Other, just didn't know about the whole I-can-make-my-whole-body-sticky thing :)

btw, I know this is off-topic since it's from Spectacular Spider-Man, but has anyone read SSM #21 (2005)? Read it when I was looking through some Disassembled stuff, thought it was a great issue :D

I meant Spectacular Spider-Man #21, written by Paul Jenkins!
The one where they play poker against the Kingpin
The one you're referring to is Sensational Spider-Man #23 I think :)

I do remember that issue, and at the time I wasn't following Spider-Man or anything. I just thought the issue had a neat idea, and it was fairly well executed if I remember correctly.

Hm. So I completely ignored this last story because it looked like crap.

I'm assuming I didn't miss out on anything worthwhile then?

Yay, Kaine's back

who was asking for Kaine to come back? way less people than the amount who wanted Reilly back, which wasn't all that many people, but I'm one of them

well, considering that Marvel has either ignored or made fun of the clone saga since it ended, maybe this is a good sign for Ben.
