Re: Amazing Spider-Man series discussion (spoilers)

The only good thing I can say about that cover is that it is, indeed, gorgeous. Mephisto's perpetual bedhead and receding hairline have never looked less lame.

Agreed.

Also, did anyone read the new Avengers: Initiative?

...OK, stupid question...

...basically, Spider-Man ran into the Scarlet Spiders wearing his old Iron Man suit. They had a crisis of conscience and told the world (against orders) that Peter Parker only wore a Iron Spider suit that he got his powers from, and that the real Spider-Man was with the anti-reg forces. So no one seems to think Peter is Sider-Man anymore. (think about that for a sec)

While I really doubt this is the inevitable return of his secret identity, (terribly anticlimatic) I felt it was worth posting here.

Apparently, the Scarlet Spider suits have an image inducer feature. They just said Peter's suit looked like the classic Spider-Man costume at the time.

I see ........ cool

Re: Amazing Spider-Man series discussion (spoilers)

the unmasking shouldn't have been fixed

there were so many interesting story's they could have done with the unmasked peter, and they decided to completley waste it in favor of what is basically Peter Parker's very own "Crisis"

I'm glad , I stopped reading new ones because of it. Now I can read them again if I want

That's retarded and makes no sense whatsoever (the story, not your post).

Mole, seriously. You call that "fixing"?

I like how they do something like unmask Spider-Man to bring in new readers and get people interested who otherwise don't read the comics...then a couple months later they undo everything, confusing everyone who isn't used to this type of bull****.

It's no wonder nobody ****ing reads comics anymore.

Re: Amazing Spider-Man series discussion (spoilers)

IMHO the un-masking was the most interesting thing to happen to Spidey *616* in years

Re: Amazing Spider-Man series discussion (spoilers)

It's not perfect I'll give you that , but if it results in him been masked again I'm happy sorry I hated that change. Been masked and dealing with identity issues is true to the charracter.

And you mentioned how this silly. I read Marvel knights resonatly which was not long before Civil War , Peter saw what happens is people find out who is so is unmasking himself live on tv months later they undo everything from the comis just before when he learnt that lesson again?

Also he is a smart guy would he really be stupid enough to be played like puppet by tony?

So in away undoing it is undoing something completely out of charracter that just seemed to undo the lesson he learned months ago anyway.

Sorry - I haven't got a clue what you're saying here....

Ok months before civil war he was mr "It's not safe for anyone to know who I was" after goblin let scorpion ect... team up to try and kill him.

then moths later tony says "hey unmask on tv" and he says "ok"

My point was how is that diffrent to undoing this months later like that did to ones before it?

You can't be serious.

He was manipulated by Tony. It was a simple change of heart. He was angry about it after he switched back to the anti-reg side.

You seriously think that's the same as retconning something that happened on live TV and was seen by hundreds of thousands of people, live (and seen on reports by millions more)?

Not exactly the same but it was so out of charracter and ridicules that it needed retconning like the four supermen after his death stupid.

But that's my opinion.
