Whoa, someone's been doing their homework, ;)

Yeah, I'm going to be doing a major revision in the next few days to get rid of all the non-canon stuff (including the video games). I'll also be adding in the last four issues of Fury's Big Week and the Black Widow Strikes mini.

Glad they're fixing the 1943 date from Fury's Big Week...considering Cap first went to Europe as part of the USO show in Nov 1943, then rescued Bucky and the Howling Commandoes, then went after ALL of Red Skull's Hydra bases (6 I believe it was), Bucky dying, and the conclusion... it was hard to believe that all happened in less than two months (Nov - Dec 1943). Nice to know the exact year Cap "died" is 1945.

But yeah, I'll have this updated this weekend (in preparation for a flood of people looking up MCU timeline on Google after seeing the Avengers).

Ok, timeline is fully updated with all releases. Removed all the non-canon comics and the video games, so this is the complete, fully canon MCU timeline.

Will continue to update in the coming weeks for the Black Widow Strikes comics, and whenever Avengers comes out on DVD will break up the chapters per usual.

Also, a note on the dates:

Some people will notice I've placed Avengers in 2011... this is because the only explicitly stated date in any of the MCU movies has Iron Man taking place from February - May, 2008. Iron Man 2 is said to occur about 6 months later, and to coincide the Stark Expo (which is open for a year), January 2009 seems a logical placement. Thor and Incredible Hulk occur around the same time, overlapping all three films at various points. Captain America's body is found a year later according to the Avengers Prelude - Fury's Big Week comics, putting the bookend segments of CA - The First Avenger in 2010. The Avengers concretely places the events of IM2, Thor, and Incredible Hulk as a year previous (or a little more than a year as evidenced by Black Widow's comment to Banner of not Hulking out in "over a year" in Avengers), thereby concretely placing Avengers as taking place not long after Cap's body was discovered.

Let me know if you notice any holes in my logic.

Thanks for that info, Captain France. I'll include that with the next update. Only problem is the dating from Incredible Hulk. As you mentioned and shown in the film, there's a letter dates October 21, 2006 about Hulk not being seen in five months, and later in the factory Bruce's boss mentions he's been working there 5 months. Obviously it would seem to imply it was now March or April of 2007 that the movie begins.

However with Iron Man 2, Thor, and the Incredible Hulk movies overlapping and Iron Man 2 almost concretely set in 2009, the 2007 dating for IH no longer applies. The overlapping timeline of those 3 movies was more nailed down by the Avengers Prelude - "Fury's Big Week" series. You obviously noted this in your version and set it April to May 2009. I'll adjust a few things with this info. Nicely done!

Of course, to reconcile the IH dates, I just assume that Bruce still Hulked out, but hadn't for almost 6 months (158 days) but when he did, I just assume he was able to do it in the jungle and get away from population centers on the rare occasion it did happen (thus staying off Ross' and SHEILD's radars) between May, 2006 (5 months before last sighting according to the letter) and October 2008 (158+ days since his last Hulk incident--probably in the jungle), thereby making sense of the 2009 placement/retcon.

Full update done. Re-arranged the Iron Man 2, Thor, and Incredible Hulk overlaps a bit to make more sense in light of the "Fury's Big Week" prequel comic outlining the order of events between those three movies.

Also added more specific dates for Iron Man 1 and 2, Incredible Hulk, Thor, etc. Special thanks for Captain France for providing the info necessary.

On that note, I did have one minor disagreement over the dating for Incredible Hulk. Its established almost immediately that 158 days have passed since Bruce last turned into the Hulk...then later in the factory in Brasil, when Bruce is being chased by Blonsky and the other soldiers, in addition to the 4 co-workers who are accosting him, when Bruce changes, if you pause and slowly creep the frames forward, you can see the numbers beginning at 166, placing this event 8 days after the opening of the movie.

Also, there's no way to be sure when the Award ceremony from the end of Iron Man 2 occurs in relation to the meeting between Fury and Tony...it could be the next day, a few days, a few weeks even. For simplicity's sake I've placed it a day later. This is also the case with Erik Selvig meeting Fury from the secret scene from Thor.

Anyway, there's some minor tightening up to be done, I'm sure, but overall this is the complete MCU timeline to date.

I'll update for The Black Widow Strikes and The Avengers DVD release (to break it up into chapters) as they're released.

Oh there's nothing when Banner is changing in the factory in my version of the movie.
Numbers are appearing when Banner wakes up in Guatemala, and frames by frames, the first numbers are:

880219190dayswithoutincident.png

and the numbers go to 1 day without incident, which means the 190 days were yesterday.

I will post later this day, the timeline of Iron Man, and if I can Iron Man 2.

Oh there's nothing when Banner is changing in the factory in my version of the movie.
Numbers are appearing when Banner wakes up in Guatemala, and frames by frames, the first numbers are:

and the numbers go to 1 day without incident, which means the 190 days were yesterday.

I will post later this day, the timeline of Iron Man, and if I can Iron Man 2.

Thats the one I meant, but yeah on my version its 166 days. I'm going to double check tonight to be sure, but I watched it twice last weekend as I went through the timeline.

Perhaps they just altered the numbers (on purpose or accidentally) on the US versions and international versions?

29 May 2009
Tony is engage by Nick Fury as a consultant for the SHIELD.
Tony Stark and James Rhodes are decorated by Senator Stern for their courage.

Everything else I agree with except this... I think its unlikely the meeting between Fury and Tony discussing his membership on the team happened on the same day as the Awards ceremony, mainly because it probably took Fury at least a day or two to pull those strings to get Sen Stern to present the awards. I settled on a day after, though that is pure speculation.

For those interested, I've posted a higher quality version of the fan-edit with some changes made to the editing. If you'd like a link PM me.

I definitely need to check this out.

Love the timeline!
I noticed it doesn't seem to have any deleted scenes though.
Has there been any sort of official statement regarding whether or not deleted scenes are canon?

I don't include the deleted scenes because according to Marvel, they're not canon, since something in a deleted scene may be altered by scenes included (and canon) in future movies.

A perfect example is the deleted scene from Incredible Hulk, where Banner supposedly stumbles upon Cap's body frozen in the ice. The events of the Captain America movie clearly make this non-canon, and as a general rule of thumb if it was deleted and not included on an extended edition of that movie (thereby opening the possibility of it being canon), then I don't include it.

The canon issue is also why I recently deleted out the MCU video games (they're not official canon) or the random spin-off comics which aren't canon (any comics considered canon to the MCU by Marvel are included here).

Glad you like it, though!

You seem to get a lot of help on these timelines from Captains.

Does that make you the Timeline Major?

It makes me the Hulk.

**punches Thor**

My secret? I'm always timelining... angrily

You sir, are insane.

I must be.

And it's incredible.

Thanks Houde. As said, Captain France (and many others) have contributed to this in large part, so just want to say thanks to those likeminded nutjobs that helped out and continually offer info and opinions.

Now I need to get caught up on the ****ing Ultimate timeline. Also gonna put together one of these for the Nolan Batman films.
