Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine News.

so, um does Deadpool have cyclops eyes in this movie?

SSH! has video interviews up with Jackman, Schreiber, Reynolds, and Kitsch up.

They all seem decently enthused about the movie, except Reynolds who is pretty obviously upset that they ruined Deadpool
Ryan Reynolds said:
I feel an enormous about of responsibility [for the character]...the limits of that responsibility...there is a ceiling to that, I can't make all the decisions for the character...I can really kind of handle the Wade Wilson stuff, beyond that they definitely changed...there's some concessions brought to the character to make it fit into this Wolverine universe. But you do that knowing that if they were ever going to make a Deadpool film that they were going to stay 100% true to his origins. There's no reason I would ever do a Deadpool movie on a stand-alone basis if it wasn't wholly related to the source material and really as faithful as humanly possible...If they're going to do it, they're going to have to do it responsibly and do it in a way that, like I said, is faithful because there is nothing more interesting than the actual source material, there really isn't, you can't make this character any more interesting.

That's good at least. I think he signed on wanting to be the hilarious Deadpool. Serious Deadpool? Well we saw Ultimate Deadpool. Nuff said right?

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine News.

This movie sounds pretty bad, from the plot summary....It really just sounds like they tried to fit in as many mutants as they could in order to please fans. Like, Emma Frost's inclusion in the story is pointless. The fact that she's Silver Fox's sister makes no sense. I don't see why Cyclops and Professor X are in this either....Did they end up forgetting about their encounter with Weapon X? I guess maybe I should see the movie before criticizing it, but it sounds kind of stupid to me.

I kind of feel sorry for Hugh Jackman because he seems like a cool guy that really cares about the character and doing stuff for the fans but... this movie was pretty bad. And it sucks that he couldn't have been part of a good Wolverine movie.

I feel sorry for him as well, even though I haven't seen the movie....just from the way the movie sounds. He does seem to care about the character and about the fans, and he trained intensely and raised millions for this movie....and he really didn't deserve to have it leaked for all the work he seems to have put into it. Maybe Fox deserved it because of Watchmen, but Jackman shouldn't have had to pay for it.

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine News.

interview with Gavin Hood at SSH!

he openly admits that he didn't stay true to the comics. He said the source material doesn't agree with itself, so he just picked up a few themes running through all of them and did his own thing.
Gavin Hood said:
Obviously I went back to the comics and studied the comics. What you discover though--which some comic book fans may not want to hear--is that the comics don't agree with each other. This is a character who has been written about and illustrated by many different writers who spanned over many decades. What they all have in common is of course that fabulous line which says, "I'm the best there is at what I do, but what I do best isn't very nice." Now, every book and certainly the film is true to that idea, which is the guy who doesn't necessarily like his own nature has this tendency towards berserker rage. He's trying to control his more animalistic side, but occasionally, he lashes out at the world with his claws. Those are the sort of things that you draw on that you must be true to.

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine News.

This really does sound awful. It sounds like it will suffer frmo the same thing that X-Men: The Last Stand did, which is too much just throwing mutants in willy nilly to get them screen time even tho they add nothing to the advancement of the plot.

Cameo spoiler

Patrick Stewart reprises his role as Charles Xavier in a cameo towards the end. Also, there are two alternate endings after the credits, you can only view one dependin' on whatever theater you're watchin' the movie in.
If you didn't already know that.

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine News.

I don't know about everyone else, but I thought it was a pretty cool movie. There's a few things they could've done better but isn't that pretty much every movie? As usual, there are fanboys and critics alike who think it sucks. Again, this happens with every movie.

It was worth my time and hey, it really didn't waste it. I was expecting a longer movie, by the end of which my buttocks would be sore and my bladder at it's bursting point. This one was right at 2 hours.

It's definitely not my favorite movie, but good.

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine News.

Can anyone tell me how close the final movie is to the leaked one from a month ago?

I can, I just got back. It possible that the guy's review you posted may have missed some of the new scenes. They were short and almost not notestable. I'd say this version was maybe 1 to 2 mins. (which the 2 mins. is a stretch) longer.

Oh, and can anyone tell me the other alternate endings they saw. Mine was after all the credits roled.
Deadpool waking up and reaching out from under the rubble for his head. And find now his mouth is open.
. Also the ending I saw in the unfinished version had
Wolverine in a bar in Japan.

and like I said in my review from the leaked version. This film was good. It wasn't a Summer Blockbuster like "Iron Man" or "The Dark Knight", but still good.

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine News.

I'm seeing it today and how the stuff i've heard about Deadpool seems....

The whole mouth thing for example. I think it would have been sick if during his fight with Wolverine he just opens his mouth up with his Baracka blades, just so he could talk, then start bantering to distract Wolverine like he does to anyone he fights.

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine News.

I saw it, and i didn't hate it.

It was okay. I think they should have spent more time developing Wolverine's character and his relationship with Sabretooth. It was too fast paced with too many characters and not enough plot. (No surprise there).

I guess I would have liked it more if it had been about Wolverine and Sabretooth's messed up brotherhood as Wolverine settles down with Silverfox and Sabretooth gives in to his animal side. Sabretooth kills Silverfox just b/c he's crazy and that starts their rivalry. Then Wolverine fights in all those wars and ends up joining Team X, they wipe his memory and Sabretooth is there and makes his life miserable (but Wolverine doesn't remember him). Then the movie ends with them grafting the admantium to his skeleton and him going bersurk and escaping.

This could have set up for a cool sequel of him being hunted by his old team mates (whom he doesn't remember) while trying to regain his humanity (meets the Hudsons, goes to Japan, etc)

But, they didn't ask me.

That sounds like an awesome Wolverine movie.

I'd rather combine those two, because you need the adamantium claw throughout. I say take Wolverine post X3 (without mentioning the crap parts) then have him go on the quest of finding out the truth while having flash back to his origin and being hunted. Or something along those lines.

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine News.

It was a movie with some great moments wrapped in endless mediocrity with a bit of terrible.

Re: X-Men Origins: Wolverine News.

Added a poll. I rated it 3/10, so it's 1.5/5 for me. I would normally round up to 2 just because I'm nice but I don't think this movie deserves it. One star. :D
