Weird Dreams

Thanks to Joe's avatar, I can't imagine him in anything other than a security guard/police officer outfit.

I had a brief encounter with Sleep Paralysis for the first time I can remember last night.

I went to bed really early for me last night, at a bit past 11pm. I only intended to take a brief nap so I left my lights on, but pulled my covers over my head and slept on my back(I usually sleep on my front).

Anyway, what turned out to be around an hour later I woke up, blankets still over my head, and realized that I couldn't move. It was so weird. I could still feel my whole body and imagine what moving is like, but I couldn't seem to send the actual signals to do it. My mom and sister were still up and I could hear one of them in the bathroom or hall outside my room, clanking a spoon around in a glass. I tried to yell for help but found my yeller to be in the same state as my mover. I had already realized that this must be Sleep Paralysis, thanks to reading about it in this thread, but it wasn't until now when the part about having hallucinations surfaced in my mind with a thought of "Oh ****". Within seconds of remembering this, it suddenly appeared and felt like the covers were being pushed in on me, as if someone were pushing down on them from the outside. "It's just an illusion, Parker. It's just an illusion." I insisted upon myself while focusing with as much mind power as I could on closing one of my hands. It felt like it was working, my hand feeling to me like it was slowly seizing up, and suddenly my brain kicked into gear and I remembered the actual feeling of moving your body. I sat bolt upright, the covers flying off and revealing that indeed, nothing was hovering above them.

I can tell you right now, if I hadn't read about this type of thing earlier in the thread, mainly the part about the hallucinations, and known exactly what was going on, what was causing it and what to expect, this would've easily been one of the scariest experiences of my life. Many thanks, guys. That's one more reason to recommend UC.

Last night it was a typical zombie dream, with a twist.

I had figured out the zombies were actually figments of a small child's imagination. I found the kid in Africa, and simply held him and the zombies disappeared. He told me he wanted to go to bed, so I put him to bed, and a demon flew out of nowhere, and killed the kid. He then laughed at me, and left me alone, telling me to enjoy hell on Earth

This morning I had a dream where I was reading this graphic novel that had art by Tim Sale(I've been reading Long Halloween and Dark Victory over the past couple weeks), and on the last page of a chapter, there's was a full-page panel of the President standing in the Oval Office holding a file folder and revealing a major plot point of the story via expository dialogue to his Secret Service men.

I was on the verge of waking up when I realized that if I did, I wouldn't get to see the dialogue, because the GN didn't exist. I hadn't opened my eyes yet and amazingly, this allowed me to slip back into the dream and see the after-image of the page and read it, and it was a big, brilliant, chilling twist and I'm now considering writing a story around it.

A few nights back I had a dream that was kind of two dreams intertwining. If they were in fact separate, I have no idea which came first and which came second. In one, I was trapped in a mall during a zombie outbreak. Yes, it was Dawn of the Dead. The mall looked like the one from the remake, but the people weren't the characters from either movie. There was a zombie child, not a baby like in the remake, but a three-year-old zombie. We were realizing that we could raise it to be normal and not eat flesh, but it was a challenge. One day, a zombie with crushed legs explains to me (The zombies talked, ala Return of the Living Dead) that it's wrong for a zombie to be raised by the living and that that kid should be handed over to the undead. We refused, and he attacked. At the end of the dream some guy was attacked by a zombie chick like the naked one from Return of the Living Dead. She pretended that she was going to kiss him and then inhaled his head.

In the other dream, I was Bruce Wayne. Or at least I seemed like Bruce Wayne. I was a rich handsome guy with all kinds of skills and secrets. There was a mansion and a bunch of women staying there. They were all competing for the affections of a man, but I couldn't remember if it was me or someone else. Anyways, I was told by my Henry Ducard-style mentor that the women were all secret agents out to kill me/some guy. But I knew this. And they didn't know that I knew this. "The Bachelor" plus espionage and Batman. Hell yeah.

Last night I had a dream where I joined a newspaper staff that regularly went on harrowing adventures "in search of the truth." This time, we were looking for something and were traveling around on a boat. We kept on getting sonar messages that said that something big was swimming around. Somehow, we met up on Brooklyn Bridge and analyzing our results, realized that what we'd detected was one of those giant prehistoric sharks, somehow still alive. Then we saw it swimming away. It's about thirty feet long and I think that it's the most incredible thing I've ever seen. Then I briefly realize that it's swimming towards the heavily populated shores of New York City. Hmm...

This is an awesome ongoing Comic book plot.

Last night I had a dream where I was being hunted by ninja. When I woke up suddenly it took me like 2 minutes to realize that there wasn't actually anyone hiding in my open closet or on the floor waiting to kill me.

I had a dream a couple days ago that we were at another con, but Doom and I had this massive hotel room with so many awesome damn stuff.

Also, I can't remember what it was, but I had another dream with Doom in it a couple days later.

I think Doom is invading me in mah sleep!

Last night I dreamt that Cartman kept coming by my house in the morning and saying he had no bus tickets and my mom would give him some. This culminated in a huge, screaming fight between my parents and I where I insisted they stop doing this because it was costing us money and Cartman was pure evil. My parents said we should always help the needy and I swore that in almost any other situation I would but this was the ****ing antichrist we were dealing with and he wasn't needy at all, but just using us.

Last night in my dream my dad found out I smoked and pretended he didn't... He picked up the butt of the cigarette and said that someone must have dropped a pizza crust (it looked like a pizza crust, or something...) and winked at me before going inside.

Another set of epic, days-long dreams again last night. One part involved us selling our house(I was so happy we weren't when I woke up) and another involved my friend and I finding a pile of change and Bruce Wayne's credit card at the movies while in line for popcorn, and my friend using the card and getting caught and charged.

I had a really cool dream last night where I was in the Mario Kart DS game. One of the few parts I can remember had to do with that quicksand in the deserty level. (I'm too cool to remember the name.)
