Weird Dreams

Weird dreams? I've had a few.

Once I dreamt that me and a friend of mine were in an arcade playing some kind of flight simulator game and were totally pwning it. Then suddenly there was a flash of light and we found ourselves in a railway tunnel and a train was approaching. We stood by the wall of the tunnel and the train went by, almost touching us but not quite. After the train had gone, a door opened in the tunnel wall that we didn't notice before and a man in a suit told us to come inside. We stepped into a room with a table and four chairs around it, and a big mirror on one wall (it looked very much like those interrogation rooms you see on cop show). The man asked us to sit down and then he proceeded to tell us that the game we had played was used to testing pilots and he was so impressed he offered us jobs as pilots for the Soviet Union army. I never found out if we would've accepted because that's when I woke up.

In another one, I had just bought a new computer and me and a friend (not the same one as in the first dream) decided to trash the old one to pieces. We carried the computer to a forest and started kicking it and taking it apart. Then my friend took the keyboard by the cord and flung it far away like an Olympic hammer thrower. In the next "scene", we were in a pub and watching the news on tv, when the newscaster told that the Pope had been visiting in Finland and while taking a stroll through a forest had been killed by a flying keyboard. The police had no leads. And then my phone rang and woke me up.

You see that little bastard in my avatar? I'm dreaming about the ****ers now. They were in my pantry with my food. I tripped and fell and had to roll away from one of them because it was trying to crawl on my leg. When I killed them, they fell apart into pieces I had to pick up and throw away one by one. ****ing insects.

Now you should go watch "Slither".....

Have you read "Arkham Asylum"?

Very odd experience last night.

Last night I got to bed at about 4 (Not unusual for me). I was tired and I immediately started to doze off. I'm not sure what I dreamed of, but I know that I woke up after about ten minutes. The first thing I heard were birds chirping, which was coming from the air conditioner in my window. Not odd, since birds always try to roost in those things when they're not in use. But then I heard a scratching noise, like someone scratching the walls. The first thought that popped into my head was that it was a ghost. My mom has been hearing things lately and she claims that the toilet flushed by itself the other day. Now she thinks that our house might be haunted. I usually dismiss this, but the first thing I thought was "Ghost". The next thing I realized was that I couldn't move.

Now, I know exactly what this appears to be: Sleep paralysis. I've talked about it before, and I suggested that it was probably what happened to E when he couldn't move after he had the dream where he was shot. I wasn't totally paralyzed, I tried to move and it felt like I was swimming in invisible molasses or something; I managed to lift my hand a little, but it took an incredible amount of effort.

I turned my head-slowly-and looked at my book shelf. My Cub Scout Pinewood Derby 3rd Place trophy was sliding forward slowly, until it teetered off the shelf. The ghost must have been pushing it. I looked over in the area in front of my door. I don't remember seeing anything, but I got the distinct impression that someone was there, a shape about four or five feet tall. The best way I can describe it is how Cliff Steele describes Mr. Nobody in Doom Patrol: It's like always feeling that you're seeing someone just out of the corner of your eye, even when you're looking right at them. At about this point, panic sets in. I realized that I still wasn't able to move and I got very afraid, because whatever it was in my room, it didn't seem very friendly. I closed my eyes, hoping that it was just a dream.

I drift off again.

I'm standing in my house and I'm looking out the window that looks out on to my driveway. I see something outside standing in front of the garage. I look closer and I realize that it's a horse, a large, brown horse. There's something incredibly familiar about the horse, like I should recognize it. The next thing I know, there's another horse. And another one. They start running around the driveway and somehow, one of them jumps up through the window. I leap out of the way as a stream of brown horses start jumping through the window and running through the house. I run into my kitchen and there are boxes everywhere, like we're moving out. Sitting on top of one of the boxes is a furry little stuffed horse. Again, it looks familiar. As I'm running, I start yelling for my dad, and as I start yelling, I wake up. I wake up with a weak and surpressed little "Duhhh...", which-even though no one was around or awake-I found pretty embarassing. It took me a few seconds to make sure that I was really awake and fully motile. Only 30 minutes had passed since I fell asleep.

Needless to say, I was a little scared to go back to sleep.

That's fascinating about the ghost. Was your Cub Scout trophy still on the edge of the shelf by the morning?
No. In fact, it hadn't moved at all. This doesn't necessarily mean that it was a full-on dream, since people report all kinds of weird **** happening during sleep paralysis.

I never dream about ghosts and stuff. But I have seen one before, during midday. No idea what the hell it was, but it freaked me out. It's the only time I can recall ever seeing something paranormal and I have no idea if it actually happened or not.

I know how to fall asleep with my eyes open. It's a very useful skill. Kind of. Not really. My eyes hurt a lot when I wake up, and I usually have very strange dreams, as opposed to when I go to sleep with my eyes closed, and never remember what I'm dreaming about.

I learned how to do that during Biology class. Actually I cheated and propped my eyelids open with my pinkies while I held my head in my hands. I'm told it was a very disturbing thing to see. Especially when I started snoring. And yes, your eyes are dry as hell when you wake up and they hurt.

Weird dream the other night. I was a super villain trying to bust out of some kind of high tech super villain jail. Think Devil In Cell Block D, but with me in the place of Daredevil and Darkseid in place of the Kingpin. It was pretty badass. Completely non-sensical, but badass. I was woken up before the end though, which kind of pisses me off because I want to know where my subconscious was going with it.

****. I really want to learn how to fall asleep with my eyes open now.

It's tougher than most people think. There are some really good tutorials online that show you how. Personally, I was taught by my cousin. The problem is, even though your eyes are open, your head still drifts back and normally (at least, I) end up having my mouth partially open, even drooling a bit sometimes. So it's essentially useless during class, which was, again for me, it's original purpose.

Did I mention that it hurts like a ***** when you wake up?

Elaborate.

I accidentally fell asleep with my eyes open for the first and only time in class earlier this year. Waking up was weird. It was like I had been seeing everything the whole time, but my brain couldn't make sense of any of it until I woke up.

My English teacher once told us about a friend of his dad's who'd been in one of Stalin's torture camps. One of the tortures was sleep-depravation, and the guy eventually learned to sleep standing-up with his eyes open.
:dazed:

Did you ever read Night by Elie Wiesel? One of the few things I remember from that book was that he was able to sleep while the Germans were making him walk for miles.

Last night I dreamt that I and a friend had been captured by some sort of evil sciency group with a base on Mercury (Like an evil version of P.R.O.J.E.C.T.). They were trying to open a black hole to swallow the sun or something and we had to escape and stop them. However, we weren't allowed to talk, so we'd have to find little oppurtunities when they were distracted to communicate. There was another prisoner who was quiet and did what they said, so we were afraid that he'd jeopardize our mission. Before the dream was over, I realized that the evil group was...NASA!!! Dun-dun-DUN!!!

I read the book last year but I actually forgot about that.

I was walking towards my house one day and in the corner of my eye I noticed something. The only way I can describe it is like a fat version of Piedmon (that clown Digimon) crossed with someone in a Victorian costume. I look around, it's gone, and then I run inside and lock the door.

I'm not even sure it was a ghost. It's just the best term to describe it.

There was also a time I thought I saw something on the ceiling of my Art class. But that's not as vivid and I think I might have imagined that one.
