Upcoming Ultimate Spider-Man arcs

I really cant wait for the Morbius arc. And im really intruiged about what the mystery arc could be. I hope we see scorpion soon. Interesting fact, you know Morbius made his 616 debut in Amazing Spider-Man #101 and it seems his Ultimate debut is the same :p

yeah vaughn....history repeats itself.....for the series to actually have "spider-man" in ultimate spider-man, its gotta take parts of the original....so when i make my speculations, thats where it comes from obviously....some understand that, some dont....it usually works that way until bendis switches it up to put a fork in the road to make a good story better or worse..

Well, Bendis said that he would be holding off on Scorpion so that the new 616 version could breath a little, so it his ultimate appearance may not come as soon as we thought...

Also, the Morbius arc is something I'm looking forward to, too. I want to see something different in the title, this time, though, and not just the action arcs we've been seeing since the return of Doc Ock ("Hollywood").

Could Scorpion go to Peter's high school?

See the first page of #81

Also, if you had to predict how many issues Bendis and Bagley will do (Starting with a minimum of 105) together, what would you guess?

Looks like it, and far too many mutants and villains and interesting people in his high school as is if you ask me, Dagger, Molten man, and possibly scorpion. seems pretty ridiculous.

wasnt it stated that 101 would start the ultimate clone saga??? and that silver sable and deadpool were different arcs, w/ deadpools also involving the reavers?

Yes and those arcs might be smaller arcs, like 3 issues each perhaps...but i liked having deadpool/silver sable than deadpool/reavers....that made more sense to me the first time around.

But none of them have powers.
Not true, we dont know if tandy doesnt have powers....scorpion obviously would have them too if he/she attends the high school even....

Scorp's powers aren't natural, they were given to him.
Well, for all we know Ultimate Scorpion might be slightly based on the female Scorpion who graced the pages of Amazing Fantasy recently. Her powers are part of her physiology rather than being some suit.

The Clone Saga will probabaly go on for quite a while. I hope that maybe we could see it go on for a whole year - that's 18 issues and a great chance for Bendis to tell a not-rushed story. This has the oppourtunity to be excellent, but if it is rushed, then we can excpect a crap arc.

If Clone Saga is an event that spills over other arcs for a year or so then I'd completely put my faith in Bendis. The way he's worked this Outing of Matt Murdock in Daredevil is perfect. Little arcs to a much much bigger picture if Bendis does that with USM then it will be gold.

and im sorry to disappoint you, but this will NOT happen....and if by some act of God i am wrong...i will never show my face on this message board and cease reading USM and any other bendis books just to show how offensive that idea is..as padded as bendis stories are already, you want 18 issues!?!

I hope that Bendis just the clone saga a little spread it out, kinda like how he's doing the "Symbioate saga"
I see this first clone saga being the battle between Kaine and Spider-Man, with Kaine slowingly dieng in the process. Many moths later the perfected clone appears, namely the Scarlet Spider [change the name thou].

I'd kinda like to see Bendis have more running subplots. Like, the clone stuff starts in one arc, bubbles under for a couple then comes to the boil. We maybe have an arc in 101 - 106 or whatever doing the six arms (which does look like happening) and the clone making his debut. Then Pete has to deal with having the clone around while whatever happens for a couple arcs, then the Ultimate Jackal or whoever turns up and it all hits the fan for "the big clone arc", would probably take us into the 120s. It would be a nice way to homage the original clone saga's style without going over the top.

What actually worries me is that if the Ultimate Clone Saga is a success, however they do it, Marvel will react the same as they did to Ultimate Venom and start producing a tsunami of clone stuff in the regular universe. We don't need "The Return Of Spidercide" any more than we needed that cruddy Tsunami Venom series.

Good Post Nick,
The Clone angle is predictable, so its going to be different from the original aside from ben reily having the same name in the ult universe. There is no way for bendis to write in a clone already existing, it can only stem from the carnage arc. At the same time, issues with the whole six arm ordeal (spidey vs fury) will more than likely not deal with the clone saga....would be interesting though, your post made me think of how interesting it would be if pete had the six arms and fought as spidey while a clone went to class for him and dealt with his personal life until things were straightened out...not saying that would happen, thats just my lady talking.;)

Anyone think that Gwen may be returning as a clone? Just because it's called the Clone Saga doesn't mean that it will be about Peter...

It could be, but with bendis already telling us that ben reily will show up in 100 and quesada telling us that the clone saga starts right after that, more signs point to a clone of peter/spidey than gwen...

i like the idea of the clone saga being multiple arcs long, but hopefully not as long as 616 was.
