I JUST got around to reading Ultimates 3 #1 - what can I say, it was a very busy holiday. And I caught a HONKIN' bad cold, so I am kinda gorked. And thus, I apologize for some bottom feeder questions/observations...
(1) Wasn't Wasp Asian-American? What happened?
(2) In what universe would the Ultimates ... would just about anyone outside of a bunch of college frat boys (no offense!) sit around and watch a sex tape involving one of their team-mates...who is in the room at the time... TOGETHER... on a giant screen TV? What universe IS this supposed to take place in?
(3) Didn't anyone...anyone...hello..HELLO!... think to just ask Venom WHO he was looking for?
(4) Are we supposed to think that no one in the Ultimates finds the Pietro/Wanda relationship to be mega-creepy, aside from Cap? Hawkeye mentions it, but purely as a potential public relations issue. What gives? In the other arcs, they always seemed...uncomfortably close... but now if they are openly carrying on a rather..... unusual... relationship... are we to believe that only a 1940s era person would go.... HUH?
Not a big fan of the new Hawkeye. To me, he is basically yet another "tough guy"/loner/brooding psuedo-Wolverine type, with lots of weapons. I don't know, to me, just seems like a VERY familiar comic book stereotype.
To me, this was an okay comic book with some good splash-page artwork, but it did NOT feel like the ULTIMATES. And I am not expecting an ULTIMATES clone... but if this book doesn't manage to capture a unique feel, to capture the flavor of the ULTIMATES, then, to me, it is going to be just another AVENGERS book. That isn't a bad thing, per se, but...

Obviously not Hawkeye - who just shot at him repeatedly without back up even though bullets didn't hurt him.
Obviously not Black Panther - who just punched him a lot even though bullets don't hurt him.
Apparently, the method was to fight Venom one at a time (obviously, just before Stark's porn-dvd they'd been watching every ninja movie ever made) and have him go, "No" to each woman who fights him like a kid looking through a stack of baseball cards. "No, no, got, got, NEED!"
Considering that they all just watched a porn tape involving one of their friends and his ex-wife with that friend next to them, and since all of them were betrayed by her, I suppose incest to them, is just a fun game for all the family, except for Cap, who wasn't invited to the "Watch Tony have sex" video party they were having.
Unless Cap is Black Panther, and he likes cosplay a lot.
I agree. At least Loeb didn't refer to him as "a Wolverine with guns" (as Bendis referred to Ares as a "Thor and a Wolverine"), though, I suppose he didn't want to draw attention to the fact that Wolverine is going to show up in #2 or something.

Hawkeye... shoots at a police car - and then at Spidey... repeatedly. Sure, you could say he's purposely trying to miss him to keep him occupied but... Christ. He's just shooting incessantly. And not making sense. He went to look for Spidey a day AFTER Venom attacked them. So Spidey isn't "just happening to be there" at a relevant time. And... Hawkeye's rant about how bullets remind him of his kids... maybe he shouldn't y'know, use guns instead of arrows? And surely - if there's a DVD of Tony and Natasha doing it - there's a DVD of his kids. It would be more appropriate to watch than the porn DVD...
