Ultimate Spider-Man: Death of a Goblin (#112-117) (Spoilers)

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man #113 Discussion (Spoilers)

Only he's not in there. It's Mystique.
"Magneto" could've escaped. Notice the quotes?

And it's Mastermind, as stated above.

My point is the world at large doesn't know it's not him. The fact that there was a breakout at the Triskelion and that "Magneto" could've escaped would be really big news.
Excatly. It's not the point of who's Magneto. Duh Buttmonkey.

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man #113 Discussion (Spoilers)

How does an escaped terrorist who attacked the White House at one point get an interview on a television show?

Becouse of exacly that. its instant ratings right there.

Re: Ultimate Spider-Man #113 Discussion (Spoilers)

Ah, Gwen/Carnage...thats who that blonde girl was.

Confused me when I first saw it. Also did I see Mr. Sinister? I thought he killed himself. (Choked himself on his shirt.)

I don't blame you for bringing it up again because it was in a different thread (the now locked 113 preview) which you probably felt it was redundant to read, but we've already been through this several times. It's Kraven and Sinister killed himself in a recent issue of UXM (though it's entirely possible that he's not really dead).

Because they never said who did it.

This issue owned.

The characterization of Osbourne was great. His inter-dialog was very well written and didn't read like Bendis filler to me.

I am so excited for the next issue.

For an issue with absolutely no Spidey and 1 page of Peter this was excellent !!

Love Immonens art I think it suits the title very well and Doc Ock owning the Goblin was a great few pages of reading !!

Looking forward to next issue and also finding out exactly who has escaped !!

One thing I noticed was Ocks lack of arms when he first appears and once he's been electrocuted !! Does this mean they were made up of bits and piecies from the rubble ?? Not having read clone saga yet I'm a bit in the dark about "New Ock" !!

4.7/5

Maybe it's just the delicious sandwich that I just ate that just made my entire day.

But this issue was excellent.

I mean, like, abnormally excellent.

And I don't think it's a coincidence that there was no Spider-Man and only a page or so of Peter. The narration from inside Norman's head was great.

Is this book going back to...gasp...GOOD CHARACTERIZATIONS?!?!?! I don't know if I can handle it.

Loved Electro's line - We almost took the White House. Good Times.

It is a little weird that he was able to get on TV but it wasn't a deal breaker. Actually I thought the crying act was well done.

Art was fantastic. I love how Immonen draws GG.

And this might have been the first issue of USM I've ever read that managed to convince me that there is a miniscule possibility that turning Green Goblin into a monster instead of a kooky guy in a costume wasn't a complete abomination of an idea that destroys the character on every level imaginable.

What E said.

I know you guys were expecting me to come here and post my awesome opinions. But you'll have to settle for what E said. Mostly because it's all true.

The book melt my face.

Did you have a delicious sandwich too?

I mean, it was just an Arby's Beef & Cheddar, but they did it just right.

****in' right!

Honey roasted turkey with swiss cheese and spicy dijon honey mustard. Sandwiches rule!

Never thought the day would come where E and VVD would like an issue of USM more than I did.

Srsly.

I just hope it didn't have any influence on my enjoyment of this issue.

I'll re-read it tomorrow before lunch when I'm still hungry just to be sure.

I'm sure it helped a little, but it really was a fantastic issue.
