Ultimate Spider-Man #103... SPOILERS!

Normally Bendis only wrecks one or two characters per arc...

In Carnage he wrecked...Carnage. In Superstars he wrecked Dr. Strange. In Hobgoblin he wrecked Harry Osborn. And in Warriors he wrecked both Shang-chi and Iron Fist (who happen to be two of my favorite characters).

And yet, he has topped even his own previous crappiness with the clone saga.

List of Characters he's wrecked so far in the clone saga:
-Jessica Drew (a female clone of Peter Parker?? What the ****?)
-Kaine (he used to be so cool...)
-Doc Ock (Doctor Octomangnepus)
-Mary Jane (Sasquatch Demo-goblin thing)
-Peter Parker (who is now no longer the Naive crime fighter, but an angst cushion)
-Nick Fury (Bendis writes him as a total *******)

So, that's what...six so far? And the arc isn't even over.

I am not that worried about Doctor Octopus - so he has magnetic powers? So what? It's not like it's going to change the fact that he's still a much stronger version of a prime villian than the 616 Ock. He's ruined Peter's life a ton more than 616 did. He's not going to start floating into the air and freezing people like Magneto does, he just going to be able to sprout arms anywhere there's metal, and fling pieces of metal around. That's what he's going to use it for, and I think that's a cool twist, especially after they effectively neutralized him in the old version.

What was the alternative, to let him build a NEW set of arms in Shield custody? No, I think this is a much more interesting idea.

Woah. I call bull**** on that. Kaine sucks, yeah. and Octomagnetopus is ridiculous and so is MJ's transformation but Strange, Shang-Chi, Iron Fist? He didn't ruin them. And Jessica Drew is probably the best thing that's going to follow through from this arc.

Well I think it sucks.

I didn't like the way Bendis wrote Strange like he was some Punk kid who...well...talks the way Spider-Man does. Iron Fist and Shang Chi are two of my favorite characters, and being a fairly accomplished Marital Artist myself, I really hate the way that they were presented. But that's just me. As for Jessica Drew, I think that the whole female clone thing is stupid. But whatever.

I wouldn't be surprised if Jessica Drew ends up pulling a Ben Reilly and being the only Clone to survive. She may then take over the mantle of Spider-Man (since Peter obviously isn't in the mindset to do so) only to be killed by...someone (maybe Osborn)...giving Peter the inspiration necessary for him to be Spider-Man again.

Or something like that.

I like it. But I like her leaving the USM title after a bit and becoming a staple in The Ultimates better.

Only characters I felt were ruined were Ock and MJ. I really like Jessica Drew. Scorpion, Kaine and Tarantula weren't ruined, per se, but they were throw away characters. Like Gladiator, Omega Red, etc.

Hell, even MJ being Demogoblin seems to have already been fixed.

So, basically, only Ock sucks.

Scorpion was completely ruined. He has no personality of his own now. Tarantula is meh for me, and Jessica even though I don't like female versions of anything is gold for the character. Don't get me started on Kaine. I never liked him. Is he still "officially Ultimate Kaine." He's a winey ***** even moreso than Peter on his bad days. But I guess that's the point of him isn't it?

Jessica Drews... only thing I like about the clone saga.... and Doc Ock save for the adjustion of his powers and being the mastermind...

I liked 616 Kaine. He was always pretty cool...or I thought so anyway. UU Kaine is really annoying, creepy, and he turned MJ into that big foot thing (which I refuse to call demo-goblin).

Everyone seems to think that USM is beyond saving. I don't really think so. You could have said the same thing at a bunch of points during 616 Spidey, but it's always managed to bounce back.

All this needs a new artist and writer. And more dead MJ.

If Mj dies I drop USM.

Mjgoblin was a mistake, and I hope Reed will find a cure for her.At least the mistake can be turned back, and with a smart enough writer the fallout of the transformation of MJ, can be a real pain in the *** in Mj-Peter relationship.Which I really would love to read.

I like the confused look of Scorpion actually(still too bad he is only a clone, it is waste of a great villain). And he might turn out to be doing pretty interesting stuff.

Tarantula was nice as long as he had the mask on, but I don't think it's such a big loss.

And Jessica Drew? I hope she won't take too much time from USM title, and make apperreances in different titles, that would be cool.

Looking at the preview of #104, looks like Sue Storm is going to do something to Richard.

Magnetock should go down! Fast! real fast!

i liked the issue. im glad doc ock is back but i do wish it was norman as he hasnt been in the comic since issue 27 and thats rediculious. i hate that tarantula is dead but i think thats going to happen to all of them. i hope that scorpion makes it and he is a good villian. im looking forward to the end after what seems like years on this story. 9 issues? thats crazy

Scorpion has the most *****in' armor in the history of ever. He'll probably end up in S.H.I.E.L.D. custody, though I had this idea that he might end up working for Sue and Johnny's mom in Latveria. (What's her name, again?)

ETA:
"You idiots. Did you really think that little psychopath could get this lab into working condition in one night? After all, he's only as smart as you are. I had this planned from the beginning. I always had this planned."

*tentacles rise from the shadows and impale Tarantula*

"Didn't feel that one coming, did you? A few months to experiment on your 'brother' smoking on the floor over there and your pathetic 'spider-sense' is out of commission."

There. A logical explanation for his arms returning, him being able to kill Tarantula, and him actually being a threat even though there's two of them now.
