So, out of the crapload of Ultimate books that came out today (why Marvel, why?), it seems most of them had timeline notes in the front. This is encouraging, though I haven't read the issues yet so I'm not sure if they make sense or not.
I agree, it is encouraging. Does this mean the Ultimate writers/editors are actually attempting to thread together a tighter continuity? I wonder if its only in preparation for Ultimatum?
I'm having a hard time with the Ultimate Amazing Friends arc...
The two X-teams are together again...
Nightcrawler is with them...
Colossus is with them...
Am I just forgetting something or did Bendis mess up here or is there some "logical" reasoning to this line up?
The intro page says it takes place after UXM 93, so I guess we'll see what happens there.
Ahhh ok, i never read those, that would probably have helped some
The question of whether or not the notation at the front of USM #120 about this arc occuring after the UXM Apocalypse arc is accurate remains to be seen. We'll have to wait until next month for #93, when the arc wraps up, to see if the team that appeared in USM #120 is accurate. The team would have to reform including Nightcrawler...and Colossus as well, but didn't he take off to Emma's school? Oh, and Wolverine will need his arm back somehow. If all those things happen in UXM #93, the timeline is all good (well, that part anyway). I have to hope that if the writers and editors are including timeline notations on the summary pages, they'll at least pay attention to stuff like that. If history serves, this won't be the case, but I'm still holding out hope.
my question is if Four Cubed (UFF) takes place before Ultimates 3, then where is Scarlet Witch?
i think someone screwed up!
(but it's forgivable and easily overlooked).
She could just not be there at that time. No big deal.
Yeah, after the events of Ultimate Power and the team really getting a full view of what she can do with her powers (wiping out reality, or altering it drastically), it can be assumed that they might not want to have her on as many field operations.
Can't blame them.
and who are all those shadowy people in the background of Thanos' fortress at the end?
is the big spikey guy supposed to be Venom?
No, I don't think its supposed to be Venom. Maybe its just a random mutant.
I think some of them are just random guys the artist put in there who aren't really supposed to be anyone.
Exactly.
so Xavier says that he's been in the future for a year preparing for Apocalypse...i thought that was going to be a continuity problem (since a year obviously hasn't elapsed in all of the titles) but i guess it could be a year in the future's time.
That was exactly my train of thought as well.
Yeah, Xavier apparently has experienced a year in the future, but in the X-Men's present time much less time has passed: a few weeks or months.
so apparently Apocalypse goes before Amazing Friends.
What gave you that idea?
CaptainCanuck65 is timeline-chatty today. Can't blame him. Its sort of an obsession of my own (duh).
But yeah, it did say on the recap/summary page that USM #120 (and #118-119 since they occur on the same night) takes place after UXM #93 (the last issue of the Apocalypse arc). Like I explained above, a lot of stuff needs to happen in UXM #93 for it to all work out continuity-wise.
