Ultimate Marvel Timeline / Chronology (v. 3.0)

I just want to say thanks for making this timeline. As long as there isn't an official timeline released I will be coming here to find out what issue goes where. I appreciate the time and effort you put into this as I had noticed references to the other Ultimate titles in other ones and wasn't quite sure where they fit together. I'm still not completely sure as I'm just collecting all the hardcovers and havent got enough to officially piece everything together, but I know this timeline will help me.

Glad you appreciate it man. I'm still updating it every time a new issue or news of the Ultimate line is released, so for the vast majority its as up to date as humanly possible (or inhumanly, if you're into that).

Keep checking back as your Ultimate collection grows. My goal is to get as many Ultimate fans as possible to read the ENTIRE Ultimate run in chronological order, mainly to support my massive ego. ;)

Anyway, glad you like it, and keep checking back.

ULTIMATE X-MEN # 96
The Story: X-Men vs. X-Men! After their attack on Alpha Flight, Colossus and his team are wanted fugitives! Worse, they've become addicted to the insidious drug known as Banshee! Now it's up to the other X-Men to take them down. Yes, it's mutant vs. mutant! When the X-Men go to war with each other, who wins? Plus, the startling revelation of Jean Grey! Where did she go after defeating Apocalypse? Find out here!
Rated T+ …$2.99

and Night Crawler is on the cover of UXM # 95
well, maybe there's hope

we made Ultimate Power fit, after all!

Heh, those crazy Ultimate editors.

Good point. Maybe after 93 doesn't have to mean before 94... or 96, in this case. Don't get your hopes too high, though. If you look closely at Ultimate Power on the line, you can see DIrishB's sanity stuck amongst the mashing it took to make it fit.

From the preview of UXM 94
it looks like Colossus, Nightcrawler and Jean are all back on the team...

Looks like.

I'd still hardly call it perfect. There's the whole Ant-Man thing, and Fury's arm which was never explained in-book, and Kitty mentioning being on the X-Men, and I don't know, other things I probably don't even remember.

Too true. I wonder if Fury losing his arm in Ultimates 2 will be addressed at all when he appears in Squadron Supreme...? Probably not, given how it was ignored in Ultimate Power.

I have to believe there'll be at least one reference to it. It's such a glaring error they have to cover it somehow.

Tony made a robotic arm for Misty Knight, maybe he made one for Fury in exchange for SHIELD files or as a parting gift?

We know that Fury has some kind of biotic arm from the Ultimate Secrets book, but that's it. I find it more likely Howard Chaykin can work it in, though, than anyone else. Especially since Fury is going to be some sort of narrator.

I never picked that up, is it in any sort of tpb? They should do one for all the Ultimate Handbooks, there's been three now?

Just the single issue, but it's recent enough that it should be findable, and you can probably flip through it for everything you need.

Cheers, if it has little nuggets like that in it I'll definitely have to check it out. The only one I ever picked up was the Ultimates/X-Men one from 2005, because they're the parts of the Ultimate Universe I was most interested in at the time, wish I'd picked up the Spider-Man/Fantastic Four and Secrets one now

Also, just looking through the timeline (which has been a major help in easing my mind, and will come in handy when I eventually have all the trades up-to-date) but I think I've spotted one minor problem: You have the two listings for Ultimate Human issue #3 the wrong way round (I think), issue #3 pages 1-20 should come before issue #1, and issue #3 pages 21-22 should come afer issue #2

You're right. Stupid typo on my part. Thanks, I fixed it.

Also updated for UXM #94 and UFF #54.

hey DIrishB
where did you hear that Ultimates 3#4 is coming out June 25th
Marvel.com/catalog has #5 slated for that date (but #4 would have to come out first!)

is that a guess or do you have some info i haven't heard?

Its a date several other sites have listed for its release date, though those may not be reliable. However, I know Marvel's dates aren't reliable. #5 won't be out June 25, especially considering #4 isn't out yet. The delay is both in part to Joe Mad's terrible sense of pacing (the guy hasn't gotten a comic out in years without issues falling behind to a huge degree), and to help the end of Ultimates 3 line up with the end of Ultimate Origins and the beginning of Ultimatum in UXM #98 and UFF #99, which all starts happening later this year (Sept/Oct/Nov time period).

So, right now, I think the dates I found and have listed are the most reliable right now, and I'll keep them up till Marvel lets us know different.

Also, updated for USM #122.

Have you seen the preview for Ultimate Origins? Looks like you're going to have a lot of fun sorting that one out

I noticed you have Marvel Zombies 3 listed as happening after MZ2, which while logical enough, is not the case.

It happens after Galactus is eaten but before Black Panther and the Acolytes leave Asteroid M. Remember how they said there weren't any zombies left on the planet? Apparently they weren't all just killed by the Zombi Galacti...

Seriously? How do you know that? I only saw the announcement, I didn't know plot info had been released. Could you direct me to a link by any chance?

EDIT:

Nevermind, just did a search and found an interview detailing that. Thanks for the heads up, though. I've adjusted the timeline accordingly.

In terms of averages, this timeline gets about 45 views per day. Not too shabby.

Of course, half of those are probably me alone.

The other half are the editors of the UU, figuring out how they can further **** up the timeline.
