Ultimate Marvel Timeline / Chronology (v. 3.0)

Here's something from Newsarama, an interview with John Barber, Squadron Supreme editor:

Q: durkadurka 07-10-2007 08:52 AM

I have absolutely no idea how Ultimate Power fits into the Ultimate universe (i heard somewhere between Ultimates 3 and 4? Haven't even seen #1 of 3 yet).

After Ultimates 2 but before Ultimates 3. Sorry to be nebulous, but certain Ultimate series are taking place after Ultimate Power and others are taking place before. The timelines have been screwed up for a while, owing to U2, Ultimate Galactus a little, and now UP, but it all matches up eventually.

When is it supposed to take place for the Squadron Supreme? Thanks.

After issue 7, the last JMS issue of Squadron and the last one that's come out. What happened in between? Stay tuned.

HA! In your face, ICE! Never doubt the Timeline Master!

I read JMS and Gary Frank have left Squadron Supreme, and another creative team is coming on. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Its been almost a year since #7 came out.

This timeline doesn't make any sense to me. I thought Ultimate Spider-Man wasn't in continuity. So, why is it doing on the timeline.......is it in continuity?

The comic or game? because both answers = Yes.

You probably only read USM, so it doesn't even matter.

A note on reading the timeline:

- The four main Ultimate titles (Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men, Ultimate Fantastic Four, and The Ultimates) are color coded to make differentiating between them a bit easier. Any crossovers or mini-series are in black.

- Anything marked in italics takes place in an alternate timeline or reality to the Ultimate universe (Marvel Zombies, Squadron Supreme, some Fantastic Four stories, etc), but is still considered part of the same multi-verse.

- Anything marked with ** hasn't been released yet. Therefore, its placement on the timeline is tentative.

- To make the timeline as accurate as possible, many issues are broken up by page number. The numbering doesn't include ad pages, as this way it can be translatable to both those reading the individual issues and the trade paperbacks.

- Besides comic books, this timeline also includes the Ultimate Spider-Man (Gamecube, Xbox, Playstation, etc.) video game and the novels The Ultimates: Tomorrow Men (by Michael Jan Friedman) and the upcoming The Ultimates: Against All Enemies (by Alex Irvine). All are marked in bold and and have a small notation in parentheses to denote they aren't comic books.

- Any other questions or comments about placements, please post them here!

If only people would actually read the post under the timeline...*sigh*

The comic or game? because both answers = Yes.

Thank you, SSJ.

And The Dark One, as SSJ said, both the USM comic and the game are both in continuity. Of course, there are some hiccups concerning the continuity between the two...but yes, both are considered canon.

You probably only read USM, so it doesn't even matter.

:)

Made a bunch of tentative updates from what we learned from the Ultimate Panel at SDCC, concerning Ultimates 3, Ultimate Origins, the "Ultimatum" Crossover between UXM and UFF, upcoming stories within the main on-going titles, etc. As more news is released in the coming months, arc titles will be added where they're missing.

And hopefully after Ultimate Power winds down we might start getting more news about Squadron Supreme.

Yeah, what the hey? SS seems to be getting short shrift. JQ has been saying there would be an announcement at SDCC. Not so much.

There may have been, I just didn't see it. I know Joe Q said (I think at the Philly Con) that Strac and Frank left the title, but a new creative team would be coming on and picking up the story. They said they'd be announcing who the new team was soon, but can't remember if they specifically said at the San Diego Con or just "soon".

Just a quick note about the game, Bendis said in his last word balloon on Newarama that the next storyline after "the amazing friends" will be a larger story that deals with Venom and connection it to the storyline of the game, and actually putting parts of the storyline of the game into the comic book itself. So that to me sounds like the game is in continuity and even if it is not, we'll get our answer soon enough.

Its somewhere around the 46 minute mark if anyone wants to hear it for themselves!

OMG! It's Kal Jenko!

STOP POSTING ONCE A YEAR!!! POST MORE!!!

SOunds like either the comic will reference the game, including cut scenes as flashbacks, or just retelling the game altogether in comic book form.

I'd prefer the latter myself, because I never have played the game and I probably never will.

I played the game until I hit the stupid Venom chasing Electro part

I hate those stupid chase scenes

The Electro chase was the most annoying level on game , You try to keep up but buildings kept getting in the way. Annoyed me.

U got it, dude.

I'd prefer the opposite, as I did play the game and really don't want to see it re-hashed. Referenced, sure, but not re-hashed.

They weren't that bad. There's a pattern to it like any other game. Figure it out and you're home free!

Oh all the other chases were easy , the electro one though I hate , climbing up and jumping to climb up again and if you did it slightly wrong or fell off tall building he escaped. Still annoys me when I replay the game
