You need to get one of the players... then you will change your tune ;)

i have an hd-dvd player, combined with a Samsung 56" 1080p DLP, and after watching some movies in HD, I can't watch the old way the same.

Remember when you went from vcr to dvd? same deal, much smoother and better.

I'm sure everyone would get one who wants one....if they could afford it.

I shouldn't have to buy an HD DVD or whatever just for one movie.

I'll download the ripped version if I have to.

I can afford it , I just don't see the point yet

Bingo. I was all about DVDs when they were hip and new, but right now, I can't see the point of HDs or Blu-Rays. The whole reason I flocked to DVDs was because

a) They're on discs and easier to manage (we never really had Laserdisc over here)

and b) Special Features

The whole 'resolution and performance' thing didn't hit home with me until many years later. With HDs and Blu-Rays, yep, they're still on discs and the special features are all the same. The only difference I can see is that the cases for them are far, far crappier. As for performance...we'll see.

Just watched this again today. This movie is so stuffed with awesomeness it makes me cry.

CBR:

What's up with the sequel? Producer Don Murphy has some thoughts: "For those of you most anxious about 'TRANSFORMERS 2,' the silence you hear is primarily because people are fretting about a presumed strike in June 2008. Will it happen? I don't know- does the public care about strikes anymore in this day and age? What do rich people have to strike about anyway? I don't have any side here (you hear about the writers and the Producers but that actually means the STUDIOS) I just think stopping work is kind of pointless. But since no one wants to be filming IF a strike happens, everything needs to be done filming by the end of May 2008. So this is affecting the lack of news about 'Transformers 2' at least for now. Stay tuned."

Paramount Sets Transformers 2 Release Date
Source: Box Office Mojo
September 24, 2007

Despite a recent comment from Transformers director Michael Bay that the studio hasn't been going full speed ahead on a sequel because of the possible strike next year, Paramount Pictures has now set a June 29, 2009 release date for Transformers 2. It is unclear who all will return for the sequel, as far as crew and cast members. Hopefully we'll know more soon.

The only other movie currently scheduled for the July 4th weekend in 2009 is Fox's Ice Age III.

Huh , Interesting

I just found this great review on Rotten Tomatoes:

Bay's best effort by far. The robot thespians are better actors than the cast of Armageddon and the plot is probably more historically accurate than Pearl Harbor.

I told my wife I wanted a big screen TV by the time the TV comes out.
