The blizzard was so bad that the President has declared the state of Connecticut (and my city) a disaster zone. A friend on Facebook posted that this means more help will be sent here to help out. The National Guard is here helping to take all emergency workers to work. Help from other cities that didn't get as much snow are sending out help as well. Schools (and work for me) are out for the next two days (so far). Very possible that could extend further, which will suck, because next week is the public school's winter break and I can't afford any more days off as it is.

Of course there are people who have managed to go out, and shouldn't be, getting stuck in the middle of the roads (which still are getting plowed). I can't guess as to why they are out (maybe they needed to for emergency purposes, who knows) but I can safely bet that most don't have to go out at all. And thanks to them being stuck in the middle of the roads, it's making the job for the plowers a lot harder. In the downtown section, a tractor trailer is stuck, putting the plowers behind schedule who have to wait now. And it's on a main street, too.

Oh, to live in the Northeast...

We had a state of emergency situation in mid-Michigan about 10 years ago due to huge amounts if snowfall. It wasn't fun. After a while my wife and I went walking around and it was surreal; it was like being on another planet or something.

I fell on pavement while taking the dog out during one of the snowstorms. Two days later I could hardly move. I went to a chiropractor, and they did there mojo on me, and I felt better for two weeks. Good enough that I took the dog for a walk.

During the walk I felt something go in my back this time, not my hip like previously. My chiro failed to change his therapy, so it's been getting worse, and now I think it's either a slipped or a herniated disc at this point. I can't bend down, for anything, it's torture. Especially if I bend to my left side.

So I went to acupuncture guy, who did wonders. He fixed my leg almost immediately, but now my problem lies squarely on my back. They tell you to stretch and stay active, but I can hardly move, never mind staying active. It's a chore to take the dog out, even for a bit.

I will never make fun of people with back problems, except if it's watcher, I'm sure he deserved it somehow. But man, wow, it is painful.

The common denominator here seems to be your dog. You should take him/her to the vet.

But seriously, that sucks dude. Sorry to hear that!

EDIT: hey! You should transfer your consciousness into one of your younger clones. Science!

I just got back from the ER after having an eight hour long back spasm! I got to ride in a ambulance!

You're old.

How are you doing? What did they tell you? Do you need me to perform CPR/First Aid/Sensual massage?

Not that great, effectively out of work for a full week now, possibly longer.

I have loss almost all mobility, takes alot of energy walking back and forth to the bathroom.

This sucks. Going to a pain clinic tomorrow morning.
