The Music Thread : It's So Easy To Fly Through A Window

:sure:

What? You think it's "less manly" to go to a Coldplay or Elton John concert with friends other than girls. Personally I would rather take a girl to any concert but 7/10 want to go see Britney and Lady Gaga. Now, gentlemen, when I come onto the site and post that I'm going to see the Spice Girls reunion with my boys then you could probably start talking.

Also I don't come on here looking to be a "badass". But if you guys consistently stigmatize me that way... where do I go from there?

And I would sit through a James Taylor concert with my buddies if I had the chance... honestly, grow up.

Chill, little homie. I just thought it was a funny blending of taste to personality. I wasn't attacking you.

I wonder where that "stigma" comes from...

New Prince double album today - LOTUSFLOW3R / MPLSound. It's actually a 3 disc set with an album by one of his artists named Bria Valente.

I picked it/them up today, and...meh. They aren't quite as good as Planet Earth, which wasn't that great to begin with.

I haven't even bothered with the Bria Valente disc.

Opinz review coming soon.

I just might be seeing Blue Oyster Cult with special guest Foghat, also might be seeing The Steve Miller band. Both in July.

But fundage may prevent either from happening

Can anyone recommend me some Japanese music? I am looking for something possibly offbeat, maybe alternative to get into, but I can't really find much.

In the department of rock, there's the immensely accessible GO!GO!7188, the almost incomprehensible Zazen Boys, the fan favorite Number Girl and the screamy-cooing of Bugy Craxone, the artsy fartsiness of Spangle Call Lilli Line. Some less rock-like options could be international fan fave Polysics, dub reggae stylings of Dry & Heavy and the joyful jazz-blues of Mayumi Kojima. More mainstream hits right now include High & Mighty Color, which is basically Linkin Park if they had a cute frontwoman; Anna Tsuchiya, bi-racial model turned pop-rock hottie and the unusually long-lived career of Shiina Ringo.

Thanks. After looking through Last.fm I really enjoyed Polysics. I also found ART SCHOOL and noodles by looking around and they both seem to be pretty good.

After having it recommended to me by someone on Last.fm, I've really enjoyed Vision Creation Newsun by the infamous Boredoms. It's insane stuff.

For real?

I didn't know Rancid was still around, but I used to love those guys; saw them in concert when I was a kid.

I've always loved "Roots Radicals" and "Ruby Soho".

Nice. I was a HUGE Steve Miller Band fan when I was younger.

The new Kasabian single, Vlad the Impaler features Noel Fielding in the music video.

I am probably the only one that cares about this.

After recently re-combing through my music library, I had failed realize how insanely awesome SMB is.

I just can't stop listening to The Stake, I don't know why, but it just mesmerizes me.

Also if anyone has Steve Miller's "Space Cowboy", or knows where to get it could you pm me. Everytime I look for it online I keep getting The Joker mislabled, and it's driving me mad.

I have it and would be glad to email it to you. However, I rip all of my music to 128 kbps MP4 format. If this is not a problem, PM me your email address and I'll send it along.

I picked up Wu-Tang Clan '36 Chambers', Pearl Jam 'Ten Deluxe Edition', and Radiohead 'OK Computer' all on vinyl today.
