Nope, it's not a compilation, and I've tried sorting it by every single category and it always shows up as three albums.

Checked every piece of info under every little tab in the "Get Info" window and it all matches us

Just checked and no, no spaces.

The funny thing is that every other album has imported perfectly. It's just one in particular. (Speaking of The Beatles...)

select them all, then to to "Get Info" It'll ask if you want to do multiple entries at once, select yes.

check the Artist, Album Artist, and Album boxes, input the values you want The Beatles, The Beatles, Revolver)

in the furthest right box under "Track Number" put in 14 (it'll automatically check mark the boxes), under that in "Disk Number" put 1 in both boxes.

down at the bottom left, you should see Compilation, check that, and select Yes or No, either should work fine (it's mostly intended for albums with multiple artists)

Hit OK

That *should* fix it.

All I can say is this.

If you're going to enjoy iTunes, be prepared to be a total tag whore if you don't want to feel like a slob.

Oh my god, thank you so much. It's fixed.

You don't know how much that was annoying me.

I wish I'd known how to do that before. I had to go through every track on a ton of Beatles albums and set all the tags properly.

Oh yeah.

Everything has to be set right, no matter how little it matters. One of my biggest peeves while importing everything has been people mislabeling genres. I consider The Beatles to be a pop band, pure and simple. Unfortunately, most of the tracks I have are tagged as "Rock" or *shudder* "Oldies".

I feel like it's almost impossible to 'genre' anything neatly anymore so I just make **** up.


Smashing Pumpkins = Gothic Emo Alternometal
Gorillaz = Ctrl-Alt-Rock
Asobi Seksu = Fuzzbox Shoegazer Dreampop
Zombina & the Skeletones = Undead Retro-Rock
Bedouin Soundclash = Reggae Ballad Pop

I think I may have made some funnier ones up but my iTunes is on my desktop.

See, I used to be one of those people who hated whole genres.


Great example, as a kid, angry teen, etc, I HATED Country with a passion. I live in an area where Hank Williams Jr and Garth Brooks are treated as gods. Then one day, my Uncle (who helped form mu my musical tastes), introduced me to Johnny Cash, and the rest is history.
 
Anyone with an iPod Touch: What's the battery life like?

I was thinking I might get an outlet adapter when I get mine but all the ones I'm finding are like, $30, which is ****ing ridiculous. (I know you can charge it through the computer, but we have one family computer that I certainly don't have 24 hour access to.)

Johnny Cash is country.

Garth, Rascal Flatts, etc. are Country Pop, which is as much a steaming pile of **** as Britney Spears and the like.

And it's a big one.

The battery life on both the iPod Touch and iPhone are improved over the old iPod batteries. I can go a couple days on my iPhone on a single charge with moderate wifi and Bluetooth usage...You'll get much better on the iPod Touch.
 
The internets is telling me that everyone's experience seems to be different.

A lot of people have said that they've got something like 3 hours with music. (Though it just seems to be a lot of bad units floating around.) Other people say around 16 or 17 hours, some say they get up to 25.

Hopefully I'll get a good unit.

If they are only getting 3 hours something is horribly wrong. If you get that, take it back immediately.

I'd say 16-17 sounds about right. If you don't use EQ or volume control and set the backlight sensibly I don't see any reason why you couldn't get something like 25.

I got OS 9 to run on my intel mac. it's kinda complex and difficult, but luckily i found a guide for how to do it. and now i can play all my favorite old games:

Lode Runner: The Legend Returns
Marathon, Marathon 2: Durandall, and Marathon Infinity
Myth and Myth 2: Soulblighter (and Green Berets expansion pack!!!)
Blackthorne
Syndicate
Museum Madness
Dinosaur Tycoon
Amazon Trail
Yukon Trail
Monkey Island
Sim Ant
Sim Tower
Doom II
Glider PRO
Worms

did anyone else experience the joys of Mac Games for OS 9 and earlier? I mean, it was rough owning a mac and seeing all the cool games Windows got, but in the end, I ended up loving the games we had... there are many more I played, but these are the only ones I could find... so yeah, anyone else here play any of these (mac or otherwise i guess... aside from doom and worms that is...)?

im specifically curious about Lode Runner: The Legend Returns, Blackthorne, Marathon games, Myth, and Syndicate...

I did the same so I could play Alice and Black & White.
 
So... I said screw it, since I'm single now, I blew my "cruise fund" on a new MacPro. I'll have it next week.



Octo-Core 2.8GHz (dual 2.8GHz Quad-core Xeons)
