The All About Comics Thread 4: Gemini Loves Crappy Variant Covers

I've tried bits and pieces of various stories but they've never caught on. I guess there's just too many characters and none of them particularly stand out to me.

I am interested in what Geoff Johns is doing with them though. For the most part, I've enjoyed all of his Legion stuff.

I don't think you can do bits and pieces with the Legion. I think you have to just jump right in and pray you figure it out.

Is it really a good thing if you have to "pray to figure out" a comic?
Its certainly not a bad thing that there's a lot going on in each issue. I mean the cast alone numbers in the 30s. But that leads to there always being an interesting pairing of characters instead of just another Flash-Green Lantern issue of JLA. It ends up rewarding readers over time instead of going for quick self contained arcs.

And then Bendis was recommending Phonogram on Twitter because he thought it was a Hickman comic. :)

Wall*E get its own ongoing starting this November.

Hopefully it's set after the film. As much as I loved Wall*E a comic of him alone cleaning the planet wouldn't be very engaging to me.

.... what!?

Yeah that was pretty ridiculous.

That's how every Deadpool comic reads to me. Skotti made a comment about how Lobo is targetted toward 13 year olds - so is Deadpool.

I agree, it's always just filled with the most ridiculous stuff they can think of because it is barely in cannon

Pffffft... Please.

Deadpool's great. The work that Joe Kelly put into him is a testament to that.
