The All About Comics Thread 4: Gemini Loves Crappy Variant Covers

Re: The All About Comics Thread 4: Gemini Is Reading Watchmen?!

The guy on the right? I'm pretty sure that's Adam Warlock. Wendel Vaughan is dead and the new Quasar is a chick.

Yeah, Phylla, she's on the left on the top picture looking all decked out with skulls now.

Which confuses me.

Maybe she went emo when Moondragon turned into a dragon.

Maybe she went emo when Moondragon turned into a dragon.

But she no longer has the bands on her wrist.

I got the hardcover of the first arc recently, and the team split up in the end. I'm enjoying the series.

I am excited for War of Kings.

Phyla lost the bands in the latest issue and has gained some new (though still unknown) powers from
the deal she made with the Dragon of the Moon
. Oh and Houde, that was Jack Flagg.

Re: The All About Comics Thread 4: Gemini Is Reading Watchmen?!

Yesterday I read Fables volumes 4,5, and 6. For basically 9 hours. Not straight through, there were times I stopped to watch TV or take a little break.

But I got home from work around 6 and read them all. When I finished volume 6 it was past 3 am. I just couldn't put them down! 4 was all kinds of awesome and I just had to keep reading them! Each volume kept getting better than the one before.

I was a bit sad at King Cole not being Mayor anymore, but to be honest, Prince Charming's character has gotten better as being the Mayor of Fabletown. And Blue is bad*** now. I think I'm liking him more than Bigby at the moment.

There are just so many awesome points to make. But I have to get back to work.

I have to order more volumes ASAP!!

This month marks my 7th year of collecting comics! Yay!!

Next month marks the 5th anniversary of the site; and 5 years of me being a member here: I joined like a week after UC went up--so you're all newbs to me, ('cept E of course). Speaking of which, its been what, like 3 and a half years of waiting for the supposed site name change? Its like our version of a 50th issue or something (with obvious occasional delays).

I'za applying my timeline skills to da real world of da internetz now!

But seriously, I was sure TOG would've crashed this site years ago with all his ridiculous blue text posts. Sorry TOG.

Millar vs. Loeb: Who is the better writer?

Some of the comments in that thread are insane. :?

I think comparisons to Loeb's older works are warranted.

But anyone who actually enjoyed Ultimates 3 or his other recent Marvel work--the idea of it is incomprehensible to me. To each their own, and nothing against you if you enjoyed Ultimates 3...but...really? The maturity level of both the story and writing itself was that of an emotionally stunted 11 year old boy. And thats only being continued in Ultimatum. His characterizations aren't even one-dimensional. I'm sorry, I'm really trying to understand, but...what was good about it?

Oh, and one more thing to think about:

Ultimate Hulk Annual #1

Re: The All About Comics Thread 4: Gemini Is Reading Watchmen?!

I like how, "Suck it!" is being appraised on the same level as, "Do you think this letter on my head stands for France?"

I know completely off topic, No one will laugh and some won't even get it but still. I see "suck it" I think of that.
