The All About Comic Book Movies Thread

Really? I don't think he's a bad fit. Not a perfect but not a bad one.

Keep in mind, none of us have seen his audition.

Think about what he could have done as The Flash though!

I'll admit, there is something good to come out of this: Timberlake isn't going to be in a GL movie.

Possibly. But there isn't so much as a script currently.

I was waiting for a funny photoshopped picture to load in that big space under your comment about JT playing Sinestro.

But there's really absolutely nothing funny about JT as Sinestro.

I don't photoshop.

In my religion, photoshop is a sin.

Well I guess he's okay.

Chris Pine would've been a much better choice.

What about MS Paint?

What the hell is wrong with the casting directors?

RR just doesn't fit the part, plain and simple. Whoever thought he would make a good Hal Jordan needs to have their head examined. .... Nevermind, they need to be freakin' lobotomized - Who the hell is going to play Wally West now?!

I don't see how he's a horrible fit. He looks the part, he can act...just because Hal isn't like most of the characters that Ryan has played, that doesn't mean he's going to do a bad job. I think people got it in their head that he would be Wally West, so now this just strikes them as wrong even though it isn't. It's not horrible. Not my first choice but still not horrible by a long shot.

Being pissed about this just because it means he won't play the Flash is just silly. The way that project is going Reynolds would be 50 before that thing ever came together.

And he certainly has some of Hal's traits. Cocky, surefire daredevil ace? Check!

I'm so disappointed. I've been waiting for this movie since I was four. Reynolds is one of my least favourite actors, and I don't really have many I actively avoid. Even if he completely retools his personality to suit Hal, his look is just wrong for it too for me. I would have much preferred Bradley Cooper or even Brian Austin Green. Damn. I'm actually sad.

ryan reynolds.

He is the comic book movie whore. Hannibal king, wade wilson, now hal jordan. Throw him in as wally west as well. He could also play agent x for laughs.

Yeah, he also wants to be the Flash. But I bet he's talking to Raimi right now. So he could play the part of Electro, or the Scorpion, or even the Shocker. And once Superman comes back around I bet he'll want to play Lex Luthor. Since I heard they really are considering Tom Wheeling.

I'm really interested to hear how this is going to affect the Deadpool spinoff, or if he is even still attached to that. Based on some of the press he did for Wolverine it was clear that he wasn't entirely happy about the way they presented Deadpool. I wonder if that had anything to do with him taking this part. Then again he may do both...I'm just wondering.

I really hope he wants to stay with Deadpool and has to pull out of this.

Boo! I doubt that would happen. This is set to begin filming in January. It is much further along than the Deadpool movie. I think if he had to chose between the two and he was going to pick Deadpool he wouldn't have taken the part. I really don't understand why so many people seem upset by this.

I bet Green Lantern just gets stuck in development hell like every other DC movie.

Sure.
