The All About Comic Book Movies Thread

At least it's not Green Lantern.

ha, ha very funny... I wrote that in a hurry and wasn't paying attention to what keys I was using. Plus I'm not much of a DC reader. So I'm not all that formiliar with all the characters.

But honestly, I've seen his acting it's not that great. And if he did get the part. You just know he'll want to do the Album. And I don't think I could stomach that.

Yeah, he's definitely not up for acting, but if he did the music I wouldn't mind. :p

So you wouldn't mind 20 tracks of him rapping about everything that rhymes with Green, Lantern, Cosmic rays, & how he can have anything he wants with a thought?..

Contenders for Green Lantern narrowed down to three?

According to this WB has narrowed down the contenders for the part of Hal Jordan to three; Ryan Reynolds, Bradley Cooper, and Justin Timberlake. I'm pretty surprised to see Reynolds in the mix...but of the three he might be my favorite. I wouldn't mind Cooper, but I would prefer someone else. As for JT...no, just no. I really hope WB doesn't **** this up.

Three others that apparently tested were Michael Fassbender (300), Henry Cavill and Jared Leto. Cavill has to be one of the unluckiest actors out there. He's been in serious consideration to play Batman, Superman, James Bond and now the Green Lantern. He was also in the running to play Edward from the Twilight books. Poor bastard. Hopefully WB casts him as Superman in their reboot. Speaking of which...

New Supes by 2011?

The courts decided on some case between WB/DC and the estates of Superman's creators. It's kind of complicated. Anyway, pretty much if WB doesn't start work on a new Superman movie by 2011 the Siegel estate can sue them to recover damages. Good god....

Reynolds I can't stand, Cooper I love but I'm not crazy about him as Hal Jordan, and JT isn't a bad actor, but I think he'd be ridiculous here.

****. I'd almost prefer Brian Austin Green to any of these.

Reynolds I would say no to, only because I do not see Hal being a smartassed know it all like Reynolds plays. Cooper would be pretty good if only he could mix the likable dick he played in the Hangover with the huge bastard he played in Wedding Crashers. Justin Timberlake equals No for Jordan, maybe someone else please, I mean can you see JT beatboxing the Oath?

Somebody shoot me in the ****ing head. The end really IS nigh.

Ryan Reynolds is already playing Deadpool, how many comic book movies does he need to be in?

Bradley Cooper is probably the best of the three, but I still can not stand him. Not one bit.

Out of all the actors chosen, Ryan Reynolds is the best. He's an actor with a decent amount of talent and an obvious love for comic books. He's got the cocky, surefire Hal Jordan personality traits as just part of his persona, and enough range to bridge the gap between what he's comfortable being typecast in and who Hal's supposed to be.... I just don't see him in the role. I'd be all for Reynolds as Wally West, but Hal seems a little off. And ******* if this guy hasn't been put forward as a possibility for every damn role in the history of comics.

There are better choices, but I'm sure he'll do fine.

Wow. I seriously didn't think he was going to get it...mainly because of the Deadpool stuff. He was by far the best of the 'final three'. I would have prefered Cavill, Pine, Worthington or Fassbender but I think Reynolds will do fine. I'm just happy JT isn't the Green Lantern. The fact that he came close makes me more than a bit disappointed with WB.

What the hell is wrong with the casting directors?

RR just doesn't fit the part, plain and simple. Whoever thought he would make a good Hal Jordan needs to have their head examined. .... Nevermind, they need to be freakin' lobotomized - Who the hell is going to play Wally West now?!

Really? I don't think he's a bad fit. Not a perfect but not a bad one.

Keep in mind, none of us have seen his audition.
