That Thread About Work: "Custom kitchen deliveries...!"

I'd had problems with my managers in the past.

I drove around for a good half hour to cool the **** down, and meanwhile, my job was calling me non-stop trying to figure out where I was, because I was the only driver they had. When I got back, I was cool as a cucumber. :D My argument was "He got his sandwich didn't he?".

I got the mother****er mean, though, right in the nose. I mean, the fact that I managed to get back to my car and drive off accounts for something.

:lol::lol::lol:

That's great.

Well, I know you guys were anxious for my first "my relief is late" post at my new job, so here it is.

This old ****er rides his bike like 6 miles to work. Yesterday he was two minutes late and said he got caught by a train so no biggie. But today he's even later and I really needed to get out of here because I have to go pick up my last check from my old job and it's like an hour away.

And to make matters worse, I'm the boss, so *I* have to yell at him, but he's so old it'll be weird.

Fair enough.

Though I think looking for a job that is fulfiling and has growth potential should start sooner than later. I'm not dissing, just saying he shouldn't get TOO resigned to those kinds of jobs as it is often all too easy to start off from there and continue to take other unrewarding albeit comfortable jobs to the point that it becomes damaging.

It's a summer job. A University internship so he can afford to go in on a house next semester. We're 18. He's going for a Masters in Geology.

SO wensday I wake up late. 5 minutes AFTER I'm supposed to be at work. I call down and tell them I'm going to be late, then get dressed and walk down. All in all I'm about a half hour late. I get there and my manager takes me aside. I think I'm going to hear about it and he just goes "Ed, we really appritiate everything you've been doing here so I put in for you to get a raise. It should be on the paycheck after next".

I should be late more often.

Don't you feel horrible for being late knowing how much they appreciate you?

**** no. They take advantage of me left and right. I'd love to get a new job but there aren't many more options. Its either this or moving boxes at UPS and I really don't want to do that in this heat.

So I did some shopping for this place before work. I went to Wal-Mart to buy some pens and paper towels and some bottled water (since we don't have a water cooler yet), and I was running a little behind, so instead of getting my Burger King breakfast I had been looking forward to I just went to work so as not to be late. Then I ate my pizza puffs I was saving for lunch for breakfast and now I have nothing for lunch.

I should have just called and said I was going to be late, especially since I was spending my own money for stuff for everyone at work, but I'm just a wuss who hates being late no matter what.

First day on the job and it was great! Got to have some inmates call me names all day. A fight broke out, someone crapped themselves (then commenced to do things with it) and I got out in one piece. I can't wait to start my cadet training. I get trained with gloc, shotty, m16 and some kind of sniper rifle. But that's a few months off.

So I lost my job on Monday.

Well, probably. I won't know until Friday.

Apparently my drawer was $100 short at the end of Sundays shift. This isn't uncommon and normally just means that a safe drop was misentered or the safe itself got miscounted. Then monday morning a mere 7 hours after my last shift ended I come in to find out that the $100 hasn't been found.

**** me.

They know I didn't take it but since it went missing on my drawer its company policy that I take the heat on it. I'm pretty much screwed.

Oooh, that sucks.

I'm so glad I don't deal with money anymore.

I just found out today that I have to start doing the scheduling here next week. It shouldn't be bad since we're all adults and work the same hours every week, but it's also security so who knows who'll flip out and when.
