Spider-Man 3 (discussion and spoilers)

Well Gwen was pretty much just used to show how much Peter had changed. Peter without the black suit would have never used Gwen like that, just to get back at MJ. They could have just used Betty for that. I really don't know why Captain Stacy was there. Maybe they were just bonus characters for the fans.

That too

. It's possible like SSJmole said, it could be a set-up for the next film.

No I didn't I said it was to give us a feeling that M.J peter could split up and unless it was Gwen it wouldn't of worked. Nothing to do with next film.

And that's your opinion. Fine.

I have a completely different opinion of what a true, full sequel is. I've only ever had or expressed that one opinion. I then said that what I consider to be a true sequel probably won't happen. Ice proceded to say "Oh REALLY?", and posted an article that was far from reliable as if it were a fact.

So far, no one had debated with me about my sequel standards.

The article said that everyone has every intention of returning. I pointed out that it was unreliable, and that I still saw nothing to say a true sequel would happen.

In response to that, Ice goes "Oh please Raimi or not it's still a sequel" which had nothing to do with the article he posted or my debunking of it.

Then you say what you think is a true sequel and Ice agrees as if you two have proven something.

???

I'm not arguing about what a real sequel is! We all have opinions on that, and opinions are all they are! I'm just saying that what I consider to be a real sequel(Raimi and all the cast returning) probably won't happen, and so far nothing gives me reason to believe it will! That's all! I'm not debating over whose definition of "true sequel" is correct!

What?

Get off your high horse. I never posted that because of any BS about what you think a sequel is or isn't. I posted the quote with your post because of you saying sequels won't happen. It had nothing to do with what your thoughts of what "a true sequel is".

And how the hell isn't it fact? The people who own the rights to the movie (who remember can make the movies if they wish to w/o Marvel's or anyones permission as Fox can with X-Men and X-Men spin-off movies) say they will, but you say that's not reliable? Right....

Again, stop posting with incorrect information. I said Raimi or not, the movie will happen. Do you properly read anything?

Oh please. Raimi or not, they'll make the sequels, even if it isn't "real" to you. Dunst has said also she's done with this. She said it back when 2 came out.
Show me there where I said it's still a sequel? Waiting....

Then you say what you think is a true sequel and Ice agrees as if you two have proven something.
Oh noes! I agree and it's the end of the world!

Like you have proven something with disagreeing?

I tend to agree. If the actors in a successful venture don't return for the sequel, it seems like a knock-off to me. Sure, there must be exceptions, but in general that's how I feel.

Because Gwen in comics was his first love. Sony knew people would make a big deal out of it. Let's face it during the film unless you knew the story from novel ect... Mary Jane and Peter were on the rocks.

They needed a second love interest to give us the feeling M.J and peter were doomed. Now be honest if it was a no named new love interest that feeling that Peter might not choose M.J would be lost.

Add to that those "leaked" stories of Kristen saying she does not want to be in any more spider-man films and I'll admit during the film I and a few people I spoke to thought he would pick Gwen till the end.

They knew they could do that and since movie M.J is like M.J and stacy in comics together the name "Gwen Stacy" could be used as a throw away character.

Captain Stacy was there to show this IS Gwen before some comib book nerds said "It can't be Gwen. Her father isn't Captain Stacy" It was a genius movie by sony

I love when people take sarcastic questions and answer them like I'm some kind of n00b. I know why they put them in. I just thought they were a waste.

Set up for a sequel!
I don't understand. We had the Peter/Gwen threatening Peter/MJ dynamic here so where is there room in the next ones? I don't want to see anymore of them. As good looking as Bryce was in this she did nothing more then play a dumb blonde floozy. They have no more relevance in Peter Parker's personal life. Unless she's attacked by Lizard if that ever happens.

And I really hate to admit this but Kirsten Dunst was great in this one. And if she didn't want to play the role anymore than she did a hell of a job covering it up for this.

Sorry. I only answered it like that as a few people asked what was the point and I was unclear if they really thought a non named character could of done the role Gwen had.

I agree about Dunst. Though i did think MJ was a real jerk in this movie.

But Captain Stacy was vitally important to Spider-Man for a few years. He was Spidey's friend on the inside and he knew his secret ID. There's a lot of story that could be told there. And Gwen's obviously attracted to Peter, if he and MJ have some kind of falling out she could easily be back in the picture. He could agonize between them for a while. Besides, it could always be an unrequited love and then she gets killed. Who knows?

How about Spider-man/Black Cat threatening Peter/MJ dynamic. Black cat (Still say should be played by Eliza Dushku) makes him enjoy been Spider-man so much he considers been "Peter parker no more"

Well, today was the first day back at school since Spidey 3 came out on Friday, and much to my surprise, everyone had seen the film. Unsurprisingly, pretty much everyone said that it was too long, too muddled and just plain silly. Pretty much anyone who's opinion I asked for brought up Peter's 'emo hair' and how silly that was and also how pointless Sandman was. The only positive thing anyone had to say about the film was this one guy in my class who said that Venom was cool. Other than that, most people hated it.

I enjoyed it as an action-packed piece of superhero fun, but the only truly brilliant part about the film was James Franco.

Best. Scene. Ever!
